Swift Water Elementary is the newest elementary school in Peninsula School District, opening to begin the 2021-2022 school year.

We are a welcoming community of learners who inspire and empower each other to lead, innovate, and dream.

Comfy Cozy Day is tomorrow. Dress comfy for the day. Make sure students wear appropriate footware to go outside and participate in PE.


Holiday Sweater Day is Tuesday, Dec19, that's tomorrow!


Swift Water Elementary will be participating in Spirit Days Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Monday is Winter Hat Day!

Don't miss Peninsula High School's Winterfest this weekend! Winterfest is open on Saturday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm and Sunday, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm at Peninsula High School. Admission is $5!


Swift Water Elementary wishes all of their families a Happy Thanksgiving. There will be no school, Wednesday, Nov. 22, Thursday, Nov. 23 and Friday, Nov. 24. We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday, November 27.

Swift Water held their Veteran's Day Assembly! Our 3rd and 1st grades along with our Honor Choir put on a great show.

Tonight, November 8, our 1st and 3rd grades and honor choir will arrive at school to perform an evening performance. The doors will open at 6:15 PM. 1st and 3rd graders will head to their classrooms and the honor choir will go to the music room. We will start promptly at 6:30 PM.

Picture Retakes are tomorrow, Tuesday, November 7 in the morning. Please make sure your student brings their original picture packet back and that you ParentSquare message the teacher to let them know that your student will need retakes.

To find out when your bus will drop off students for early release, please use the chart below.


Conference week is all next week and students will get out at 12:15 pm every day. If your student has a change in go home plan, please send them to school with a note. If you must call to change plans, please make sure it's before 10:30 AM.

FYI: National Emergency Alert Test Scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 4

Tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 4, a national emergency alert test scheduled for 11:20 a.m. Pacific Time. The alert will be sent to your cell phone if it is on and getting coverage.

The national test will consist of two portions, testing WEA and EAS capabilities.

The WEA portion of the test will be directed to all consumer cell phones. This will be the third nationwide test, but the second test to all cellular devices. The test message will display in either English or in Spanish, depending on the language settings of the wireless handset.

The EAS portion of the test will be sent to radios and televisions. This will be the seventh nationwide EAS test.

FEMA and the FCC are coordinating with EAS participants, wireless providers, emergency managers and other stakeholders in preparation for this national test to minimize confusion and to maximize the public safety value of the test.

The purpose of the Oct. 4 test is to ensure that the systems continue to be effective means of warning the public about emergencies, particularly those on the national level. In case the Oct. 4 test is postponed due to widespread severe weather or other significant events, the back-up testing date is Oct. 11.

September 8 Swift Water welcomed 98 kindergarten students to our school. Swift Water Elementary VPO provided a Cheers and Tears connection after drop off. Our new Seals had a wonderful first day! We'll see everyone on Monday!

Meet the Teacher was a huge success! Thank you to our fabulous VPO for manning a table and loaning your husbands to help with crossing at the YMCA! Thank you Tom Taylor YMCA for partnering with us and putting on a fabulous Safety event! Thank you to our incredible staff that again put together another fantastic meet and greet, and lastly our amazing families that came out to celebrate another great year of learning! It’s going to be a great year!

Swift Water's Jumpstart kindergarteners were able to practice riding the bus today! Swift Water will be piloting a new program that will have students scan in and off the bus and our kinders were the first to try it. We have a few adjustments to make and we'll be ready for everyone. Thank you Erika the bus driver and PSD's Transportation Department for making this possible for our newest Seals!
