We are proud of our GIS staff and students for the growth they made last year. We are not where we want to be yet, but we are headed in the right direction. We will continue to grow academically and appreciate the trust and support we receive each and every day from the community of Giddings.

What a phenomenal first week! 🎉 Our students arrived a bit shy on Tuesday and are leaving with snow cone-stained smiles on Friday—a pretty clear sign they're excited about being here! 😊

We're overflowing with gratitude for the incredible support that made this week shine ✨ A massive thank you to Giddings Whataburger for the gift basket, First Methodist church for those delicious cookies, and our brand-new GIS PTO for the fantastic coffee bar that helped us power through Friday! ☕ You all made the magic happen!

Tomorrow is the BIG DAY 🎉 We cannot wait to welcome our students back into the building!

A quick heads-up for drop-off and pick-up: our car line moves fastest at the start and end of the day, so we'd love to see you here first before heading over to GES 🚗 It makes everything run more smoothly for everyone!

If your child's end-of-day dismissal plans need to change, please reach out to our front office to let them know. That's the most direct way to make sure we have the right information - 979-542-4403 - 📞 A message on Dojo is wonderful for other things classroom related, but for dismissal changes, the front office is your best option.

What a night! 🌟 The energy at Open House was absolutely amazing, and seeing all those bright faces reminded us exactly why we do what we do. We are genuinely thrilled to welcome everyone back for the 2026-2027 school year! 🎉

Ready or not, here it comes! 🎉 The 2026-2027 school year is just around the corner, and we cannot wait to welcome our students to GIS!

Mark your calendars for our open house on August 6th 📅. New students will kick things off with a gym meeting at 5:00 pm, while our returning kiddos can arrive at 5:30 pm , grab their schedules and head straight to their classrooms.

Don't forget to grab the school supply list 📝 (you'll find it on the GISD website too!) so everyone is ready to make this year amazing. See you soon! ✨

Giddings ISD Parents: You will soon be able to see your child's STAAR scores in the GISD Parent Portal. When you open the Parent Portal, click on the GREEN button labeled "Texas Assessment," and you will be able to see the current scores and past scores, if applicable. If you are unable to access the Parent Portal, you will need to contact your child's school to obtain the access code.

STAAR EOC Results for Grades 9-12 will be available June 10th, and STAAR Results for Grades 3-8 will be available June 16th.

Giddings ISD celebrated another successful school year at the end of the year at a luncheon on Friday, May 22nd. The theme of the luncheon was "One Town, One School, One Family."

The District awarded service pins to employees who have served in the District for five to thirty-five years, recognized retiring employees, and presented awards to the employee and teacher of the year.
