Congratulations to Junior Isaac Vos for performing at the Minnesota Music Educators Association All State Band Concert! Isaac recently spent five days at Concordia - Moorhead rehearsing and performing with some of the best high school musicians in the state!
He shared a bit about his experience:
"We started off the week with rehearsal from 2:30-7 after everyone got checked in, then they introduced us to all of our amenities (like the dining area, dorms, etc.) After that we fell into a pretty regulated schedule of going from rehearsal, to sections, to mass sectionals, then back to rehearsal. When we were first introduced to our instructor for the saxophones, he gave us a piece that we would play for the 'student talent show' on Friday night. The piece we were given was called Ulla in Africa. Throughout the whole camp, I met many new and wonderful people that I continue to have contact with, especially in my section. As a whole, the group was able to improve vastly throughout the week, thanks to each other and the amazing staff. I would strongly encourage anybody up to the task of auditioning to do it, it will without a doubt be one of the most memorable experiences of your life."
Isaac's next performance with MN All State Concert Band will be at Orchestra Hall in Minneapolis on February 20as a part of MMEA's Midwinter Convention.
