GFW Firebirds are getting fired up about cooking with real sugar with some help from Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative! Students in the GFW High School Food Chemistry class have been super busy using real MN Beet Sugar to practice their measurement skills with a few breakfast favorites. This magical ingredient was incorporated into everything from homemade powdered sugar, freshly squeezed orange juice, caramel sauce, and amazing strawberry jam!

Look closely at these incredible sweet creations to see their skill and attention to detail. Items were selected to showcase the use of beet sugar that is produced right in our backyards!

Special shout out to Ms. Dauer and her photography class for assisting with photos.
