We had 50 projects during last week's Reading Fair! WOW! We were so impressed by all of the projects, but we want to give a special shoutout to Annabelle who did her project on the book SHE PUBLISHED! How cool is that? If you get a chance, check out Annabelle and the Tale She Wrote!

Ghent Elementary families: We are asking for your support with ongoing restroom concerns at school. Across grade levels, we are seeing inappropriate behaviors such as messes left on floors, water splashed around sinks, climbing on stalls, and other misuse of facilities. Please speak with your child about using the restroom responsibly and respectfully.

On our end, staff will be closely monitoring restrooms before and after class use, and individually as needed. We hope to only continue these stricter procedures for the next two weeks, but will extend them if necessary. Thank you for your partnership in helping us keep our school clean and safe for everyone.

Our kitchen manager, Ms. April, represented Ghent Elementary and Raleigh County Schools at the West Virginia School Nutrition Association annual spring conference! She took home:

Updated Reception Date – Youth Art Month

Due to inclement weather, the Raleigh County Youth Art Month Reception at the Beckley Art Center has been rescheduled to Wednesday, March 18th from 5:30–7:00 PM.

We invite our community to come out and celebrate the incredible creativity of our young artists! With approximately 200 works of art on display, representing K–12 students across Raleigh County, this exhibit is a true showcase of talent, imagination, and hard work.

Let’s show up and support our students as they share their artistic voices with our community.

The Raleigh County Art Show that was planned for this evening has been postponed until tomorrow. 20 students from Ghent have been chosen to display their art work. The show is from 5:30-7pm at The Beckley Art Center located at 600 Johnstown Road.

We had 27 students with PERFECT ATTENDANCE so far for the 2nd semester! WOW! Those names were entered into a drawing for free tickets to the Shady Spring Middle School Craft Show & Carnival! Thank you SSMS for the free tickets, and congratulations to Andi Linzy, Gracie Harmon, Valerie Warman, and Roslyn Lucas!

The SSMS Craft Show & Carnival is tomorrow, Saturday, March 14 from 10am-2pm!
