Hi everyone!
Welcome back to campus! I hope you enjoyed a fun and restful summer.
The Socratic Club will be having its first meeting of the academic year next Wednesday, September 6th at 6pm in the lobby of Weidensall Hall. We'll be discussing Greta Gerwig's Barbie movie and its implications for contemporary art's role in today's political and economic landscape (because on Wednesdays, we wear pink!).
We'll be discussing the purpose of art, the role of media in today's political landscape, and whether modern intellectual property rights help or hinder the creation of art. Pizza will be served, so bring your appetites and your opinions. Whether you loved it or hated it, we hope to see you all there!
