Union cavalry under Philip Sheridan—looking to distract the enemy from U.S. Grant’s planned crossing of the James River after Cold Harbor—clashed with Confederate horsemen at Trevilian Station in 1864. The 2-day engagement was the bloodiest all-cavalry battle of the war.

At long, long last, I paid my respects at the final resting place of my favorite general, Winfield Scott Hancock. Montgomery Cemetery, Norristown, Pa. Video to come, for Hancock and others buried there.

The grave of Confederate General Henry Heth, a division commander in A. P. Hill's Corps. He's probably most famous for engaging with John Buford's cavalry that opened up the Battle of Gettysburg.
