Gettysburg Adventist Christian School

Gettysburg Adventist Christian School We are a Seventh-day Adventist Christian School located in historic Gettysburg. Basic skills such as how to make “I” statements are practiced.

Administrative Goals and Philosophy
The multi-grade multi-age classroom setting has been shown through practice and research to be an ideal setting for the nurture of the whole child. The multi-grade environment is fostered here because it promotes the development of self-esteem, leadership skills, compassion for others, accelerated verbal and vocabulary development, and healthy social-emotional a

nd academic growth. Dozens of studies indicate that these benefits are not as fully realized in the age-segregated classroom. This teaching discipline accelerates a better understanding of our school community and takes full advantage of the benefits of cognitive learning that happens naturally between older and younger students. Our school environment has something to offer that many other schools in the area do not. It is essential that a strong relationship with Christ and a sense of value and respect for self and others are central to healthy social, emotional, spiritual, and academic development. It is vital that the school environment be a place where students and parents feel safe to be themselves, realize that we all have strengths and weaknesses, and discover that God welcomes diversity. Respect is an important key in the development of positive relationships and it is our utmost goal to demonstrate the notion that respect is a gift that teachers and students give to each other. By practicing fairness and consistency, and disciplining with dignity, we model respect toward one another and teach Christ’s compassion through example. As part of the daily interchange, students are taught how to communicate effectively with adults and peers when conflicts or difficulties arise. In the classroom we learn that it is the responsibility of each member of the class to support each other member to achieve success. The students and teacher must become a learning team. A cheerful welcoming school environment also helps to set a mood for learning. Smiles and courtesy are key components of respect. Our administrative/ teaching staff are constantly accessible to listen with an understanding heart. It is our goal, as we share ideas, pinpoint areas of need, and seek solutions that our school will become a better place for all. It is the prayer of the administrative and teaching staff, here at the Gettysburg Adventist School that Christ will be seen in our school, that children will thrive and learn as they fulfill God’s purpose for life in this world and the world to come.

How great is it that we were so blessed to have Dr. Rose Gamblin at Gettysburg Adventist Christian School? We are anxiously awaiting to hear what your next chapter will be! Hopefully, Gettysburg can be a part of it some how, some way! May the Lord direct your path and let the best be yet to come! God bless! ❤️🙏❤️

"Dr. Rose Gamblin has been committed to providing her students with a wide-range of academic and extra-curricular activities," shares Leona Bange, Pennsylvania Conference education superintendent. "Every student in her classroom knew that they were loved by Jesus and were given as many opportunities as possible for growth."

Dr. Gamblin retires this month after twenty-seven years of ministry for the Adventist Church--most recently serving as principal and teacher of the Gettysburg Seventh-day Adventist Church. She produces and co-hosts two radio talk shows each week (Homeschool Companion and Education Currents) on various educational topics and also teaches algebra at Pennsylvania State University. She became interested in prevention education while teaching in middle school, and is the author of "Prevention Education," an addictive and high-risk behavior prevention program for middle school. She plans to continue impacting the lives of students by working with homeschooling families.

Please join us Sabbath, June 18 at 9:15 am in person at the Blue Mountain Academy gym or virtually through our Facebook/YouTube live stream as we honor Dr. Gamblin. Join us in praying for this new adventure of retirement and as she continues to seek to impact students and families for Jesus.

Tomorrow is the big night at 6PM! Come out and show your support! We will also be streaming if you can't be there. We have a whole slew of graduates! Traiden R. and Kyle M. (HS) will be graduating from 8th grade. We plan to have our first and second graders graduate because they missed out on a kindergarten graduation, Alessia, Ally F., Daniel E, and Vivian Klunk (HS). Also, our homeschooling, highschoolers, Emma R, Jeremy R, Levi H, and Lucas H. This will be the biggest graduation we have had so far! Congrats to all the graduating students and best wishes! May God bless all you do. This is just the beginning!

I am sure, if you missed this, you will get a blessing by watching our wonderful students as they give a puppet show performance and more! Chris Harmon gives the sermon and Dr. Rose Gamblin directs the students. None of it would be possible without Mike Gamblin, tech director.
