Today from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., visit Dairy Queen at 915 York Road, Gettysburg, and mention the Ruth's Harvest give-back event. Dairy Queen will donate 20% of your purchase to support Ruth's Harvest.

Ruth's Harvest provides food assistance to GASD students and families, helping ensure our Warriors have access to meals when they need it most.

🌏A World-Class Achievement for GAHS!

The Gettysburg Area High School World Language Department has earned the 2026-2028 Pennsylvania State Modern Language Association (PSMLA) Exemplary Program (PEP) Silver Globe Award, a prestigious statewide recognition honoring excellence in world language education.

From advanced coursework and the PA Seal of Biliteracy to international travel opportunities and immersive cultural experiences, our Warriors benefit from a program that prepares them to communicate, connect, and succeed in a global society. This award reflects the dedication of our educators, the commitment of our students, and the strength of a program that continues opening doors beyond the classroom!

From inflatable slides and obstacle courses to face painting by talented GAHS students, our James Gettys Elementary Warriors had the best time at this year's May Fair!

A special highlight? Ice-cold slushies served by our amazing school secretaries, who helped make the day even sweeter!

🍎Free Summer Meals for Kids in our Community

GASD's Seamless Summer Food Service Program is returning in two weeks, providing FREE breakfast and lunch to children throughout the community. Kids up to age 18 and GASD-enrolled students with disabilities up to age 21 can enjoy free meals, regardless of economic status or school district.

🗓 DATES & TIMES:
Monday through Thursday from June 17 through August 6
In-Person Lunch: 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Closed: Fridays

Gettysburg Area Middle School Cafeteria
37 Lefever St., Gettysburg PA 17325

Please note: parents and coaches must stay and supervise. Breakfast will be available as grab-n-go, but all other meals must be eaten on site.

GASD is proud to recognize 14 retiring employees whose careers have helped shape generations of Warriors. As teachers, mentors, coaches, support staff, and leaders, their influence has reached far beyond the classroom and will leave a lasting legacy throughout our district.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment to our students, staff, and community. We wish each of our retirees happiness, health, and new adventures in retirement!

District summer hours start Monday, June 1st and will run until August 7th.

GASD will operate on a four-day workweek. Hours for all buildings and offices within the district will be:
Monday-Thursday - 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Fridays - Closed
