👋 Meet Sema!

➡️ Sema is a junior from Kakatacity, Margibi County in Liberia, studying International Affairs, Sociology, and Peace and Justice Studies.

➡️ Sema’s #1 CliftonStrengths is strategic and she is currently the Program Coordinator for Gettysburg African Student Association.

➡️ Sema enjoyed her GLC program because it: “…challenged me to reflect on my own leadership style and identify areas for growth while connecting with other students who are passionate about making a positive impact on campus.”

👋 Meet Grace!

➡️ Grace is a sophomore from Bridgeport, CT, studying Public Health Policy & Education

➡️ Grace spent last year as the Yearbook Editor and her #1 CliftonStrength is Belief.

➡️ Grace is interested in using the skills she learned in GLC programs to start a nutrition club this fall.

👋 Meet Emily!

➡️ Emily is from Little Silver, New Jersey is a junior. She studies History with Minors in Civil War Era Studies as well as Public History & Educational Studies.

➡️ Emily is a member of and the . She is also a part of the program at Gettysburg College.

➡️ Emily participated in our Fall Leadership programs. Her favorite part “was connecting with both [her] leader and fellow group members.”

When reflecting on what she learned from the experience, Emily said:

🗣️ “I have learned the importance of knowing when to share my ideas versus listen to others. Being a leader requires a delicate balance between taking charge and making sure the rest of the group feels heard and valued.”

🛶 Our full-time staff hosted the GLC’s annual summer planning retreat in the beautiful Ohiopyle, Pa reflecting on our accomplishments a d setting goals for the year ahead. There was also a little time for paddling the Youghiogheny River! 🦦

📅 Not only was 2025-2026 our 15th anniversary, it was a year of IMPACT!

Here are a few highlights:

✅ More than 1,500 leadership learning opportunities for students, alumni, employees, and external groups.

✅ Hosted our annual Leadership Expedition for 12 students exploring leadership, resilience, and self-discovery in a transformative 10-day backpacking expedition in Patagonia, Chile.

✅ Served 11 alumni leadership coaching clients.

✅ Supported 29 student leadership educators who continue to serve at the center of GLC programs.

✅ 27 students completed the Leadership Certificate.

✅ Served 21 groups in classrooms, for pre-orientation, and on the Challenge Course.

✅ Partnered with nine different campus partners to host an expanded Leadership Showcase, bringing together all of campus for eight separate events to celebrate leadership in all its forms.

✅ More than 36 donors contributed over $31,000 making it our strongest fundraising year to date.

➡️ We look forward to another great year in 2026-2027!

👏👏👏 We are so proud of Anh! Van-Anh Tran ’27, a student Leadership Educator at the GLC co-authored a book chapter on international students’ experiences in leadership positions. Anh drew on research for an anthropology fieldwork methods class at Gettysburg College and an experiential learning opportunity through the GLC. Thank you for bringing dedication, creativity, and your ideas to our team! 💙🧡
