The Gettysburg Leadership Experience offers a unique approach to leadership development by using history as a metaphor for modern day leadership issues. This experiential, multi-day course examines the leadership styles, decisions and principles displayed by military leaders before, during and after the battle. Through classroom discussion, video illustrations and visits to the battlefield, partic

ipants will learn how to apply these leadership lessons to current organizational situations and challenges. The ultimate objective of this unique program is to arm each participant with the knowledge and confidence to apply leadership principles in meaningful ways in their own organizations. Leadership is a choice, and that reality is the spirit of The Gettysburg Leadership Experience.

As Confederate forces moved into Pennsylvania, African Americans faced the threat of capture and enslavement—forcing families to flee, hide, or make impossible choices with little warning.

This Black History Month, we reflect on Gettysburg not only as a turning point in a war, but as a moment that reveals the true cost of freedom—and who carried the greatest risk.
