NEXTStep Martial Arts, LLC. is a premiere Martial Arts school located in Gettysburg, PA. As a Taekwondo practitioner, he was introduced to Taekwondo at the age of 6 in Korea. He has participated in many tournaments and won numerous awards and trophies including Grand Champion titles in both sparring and form divisions throughout the East Coast . As an instructor, Mr. Jay has earned a reputation fo

r quality instruction. His teaching methods are professionally systemized into the NEXTStep Martial Arts curriculum. Jay has taught thousands of students and helped many of them to reach their goals such as getting in shape, losing weight, gaining self-confidence, achieving blackbelts, etc. He has taught students aging from 3 to 70 years old. Mr. Jay also has experience working with special needs students including ADHD, ADD, Autism, and students with behavioral issues. This wide range of teaching experience has allowed him to create specialized curriculums to fit each students’ needs and goals. NEXTStep Martial Arts’ goal is to introduce to EVERYONE what the True Martial Arts are and how people can benefit from them. Belief! It’s having that “Yes I Can” attitude!

Being a martial artist is about so much more than what happens on the mat.

It’s showing up after a long day of work when your body is tired.
It’s kids putting in a full day at school and still coming in ready to train.
It’s choosing discipline over excuses and progress over comfort.

The strongest lesson martial arts teaches isn’t just how to kick, punch, or defend yourself — it’s building that “Yes I Can” attitude.

That mindset carries over into every part of life. It reminds us that even when we’re exhausted, busy, or facing challenges, we still have the choice to show up, give our best, and keep moving forward.

Half the battle is simply showing up.
