Some State High teachers and paras adopted 41 residents of a local nursing home to provide gifts and stockings to help make their holiday more cheerful. Melissa McKivison is Mrs. Claus for the day, who organizes the gifts and the delivery. This event always makes my heart full and reminds me of how great my co-workers and colleagues are! Thank you, Melissa, for organizing.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time helping SCAEA at the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts. The Youth/Children's Day face painting was a huge success, and our SCAEA (current and retired) friends did a great job at the Information Booth.

It may be , but for school bus drivers, every day is about getting kids safely to & from school. Thank you for keeping our most precious cargo safe: Our students! 🚌

SCAEA members are having a great week at Gettysburg. Some of us are learning about grievance procedures, others are learning about bargaining, and others are learning about fixing the website. They all are giving up a week of their summer for SCAEA members! State College Area School District and the State College Area Education Association have finalized a new five-year contract for the district's teachers.

Congratulations to Casidy Cohagan. She received the SCAEA scholarship this evening. It’s a scholarship we give every year to aspiring teachers or certified educational professionals.

Thanks to donations from SCAEA members, $525 worth of gift cards were given Morgan Bechdel, district social worker, and Cindy Sergeon, the district’s home school visitor, to help families in our district in need.
