IMPORTANT: RETURNING STUDENT REGISTRATION

If you have NOT yet completed the online registration/update for your returning student(s), please attend our District Registration Event:

Monday, August 31 | 4:45–7:15 PM
Gervais School District Student Services Building
290 1st St., Gervais

Staff will be available to help you access the PowerSchool Parent Portal and complete your student’s required registration update, as well as help you register for Thrillshare Rooms.

Staff from Transportation, Athletics, Student Services, and all three schools will also be available to answer your back-to-school questions. Families who participate will be entered to win gift cards and other prizes!

Already completed the online registration? You do not need to attend.

Spanish assistance will be available.

GHS Families, attached is our welcome back letter with some important updates and reminders. The district has also been messaging families about a registration update that needs to happening each year for returning students, but must be completed online now. They will be opening the Student Services building on Monday evening for those who need help with this. Families will either need to complete the quick online registration update or come in-person on Monday instead. We will not have an Open House until later in September when we can open our entire school to families to tour the exciting new spaces. Hello Gervais Football Fans!

The Gervais Cougars are excited to kick off the football season this Friday, August 28 at 7:00 PM as we host Santiam Christian! With all of the construction happening throughout our district, we have some important information for fans attending the game:

Entrance: For the first couple of games, entrance to the stadium will only be available on the west side of the stadium (near the District Office). Please park at the district office. Overflow parking will be available in front of the high school, but fans will need to walk around the block and still enter on the west side by the district office.

Gates Open: 5:45 PM

Admission:
• Adults: $8;
• Students, Senior Citizens, and Military: $5
• Children ages 5 and under: Free
• Gervais students with a current student ID: Free

NEW THIS YEAR: NO RE-ENTRY. Once you exit the stadium, you will not be permitted to re-enter.

We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as we work through the construction and prepare for another exciting season of Gervais Cougar football!

For your student's safety, we need you to verify your contact, mailing, medical, and other important information annually. If you haven't yet, please update your child's information through the PowerSchool Parent Portal before the first day of school. We encourage GHS students to get involved in school sports, clubs, and other extracurricular activities. These experiences are a lot of fun and very transformative. Fall sports officially start on Monday, August 17. Here are the summer practice schedules:

Girls Soccer- Monday, Wednesday and Friday 7:00-8:30 PM

Boys Soccer- Monday, Wednesday and Friday 7:00-8:30 PM

Cross Country- Monday-Friday 5:30pm-6:45 PM

Football- Monday-Friday 6:00-8:30 PM

Volleyball- Tryouts August 17-20 9:00 AM-12:30 PM in the middle school gym. The remaining practice times before school will be communicated to them during tryouts and will depend on varsity or JV placement.

Gervais HS has entered the T-Mobile Friday Night 5G Lights contest for prize money to further improve the football field. This is an exciting opportunity for our school community and student athletes, with $5k giveaways every Friday. Here is a little pumpkin patch update from behind the GHS barn. Our FFA chapter is so excited to grow these for the elementary kids and we will keep our fingers crossed we get lots of little pumpkins! What an awesome project. Thanks to our ag teacher Morgan Burns and her students for making this happen.
