The Germantown Police Department is committed to partnering with schools in the community to support a safe environment where children are able to focus on learning.

GMC PTO was so honored to gift a retirement surprise for Vijaya Subramani, Secretary to Superintendent Jason Manuel. She will be phasing out her time with our school district in the next few months (because those are some huge shoes to fill). She and her husband are looking forward to having one job - being Grandparents! We gifted her with a “cooking” themed basket with a Memphis skyline cutting board, utensils/decor, and an apron that reads “Retired - Under new management - See GRANDKIDS for details” 😜😁 We are so sad to see her go but so happy for the next part of her journey. ♥️🖤

“Stay AFLOAT until Summer!” 🏖️☀️🛟 One last special treat for the GMSD staff at the district office (floaties for drinks and canned sodas). Special thanks to our Hospitality Team who has organized some amazing treats & meals for our GMSD staff this year.

“TACO ‘BOUT A PARTY” - Our GMC PTO Hospitality Team did a great job putting together a TACO BAR for our GMSD Staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. We love our GMSD staffers because they are “NACHO AVERAGE” staffers ❤️🖤 Thanks to our district PTOs who always help out with donations as well!

GMSD Day on the Hill 2023 - On Wednesday, March 29th, the GMC PTO hosted the annual trip to visit the capitol building in Nashville. Students who participated began their day with meeting Governor Bill Lee and posing for a photo, then onto a mock session in the House chambers. We then were led on a tour of the capitol building, followed by lunch in the Legislative Lounge, where students met Representatives Mark White and Kevin Vaughn, Secretary of State Tre Hargett, and the Legislative Librarian. The visit was wrapped up with a visit to the Tennessee Archives, which just opened in 2021. GMC PTO is honored to be able to offer this opportunity to GMSD students in grades 6-12 each year and we are always impressed with how well students represent our district. We appreciate our adult chaperones, too, including GMSD School Board Member Angela Griffith and GMSD Teacher of
the year, Alicia Breen. Special thanks to Terry Rogers, GMC PTO Legislative Chair and each of the Legislative Chairpersons at each of our GMSD PTOs who worked together to make this day happen.

We will be celebrating our GMC PTO S.T.A.R. AWARD recipients on 4.20.23 with a red carpet reception for our honorees and other special guests in the GMSD Community Board Room. Congrats to all our 2023 recipients for being recognized by each of your schools ♥️⭐️🖤⭐️

The GMC PTO had the opportunity to kick off School Board Member Appreciation Week by honoring our own Board members at the Municipal Basketball Tournament held on Saturday at HMS. Our School Board members were presented with "H" stadium seats as a token of our appreciation for all they do for our district. The board can now proudly "Rep the H" when they cheer on all our kiddos from the stands.

Today our GMC PTO hosted all our GMSD PTOs at our annual Lunch & Learn networking event at the district building. So great to share with one another the great things going on in our district and to chat about ways we can improve ♥️ Huge thanks to our featured speaker, Mr Jason Manuel (GMSD superintendent) and our special guests Angela Griffith, Brian Curry, Ryan Strain , Elaine Hare, Kate Crowder, Vijaya Subramani, and Amy Jenkins. So proud to be a part of the GMSD neighborhood!

It’s a beautiful day in the GMSD Neighborhood as we opened our new staff GMSD Health and Wellness Center. This partnership with Methodist Healthcare is an incredible benefit we can offer to staff members & their dependents on our healthcare plan!!!

Good afternoon, Mustang Family!

Student parking passes for juniors will go on sale tomorrow, July 23, and will be available through next Friday, July 29th. Juniors will not have the option to choose which lot they want to park in. By the end of today, A lot spaces will be gone. The remaining spaces for the main lot will be given to juniors based on the order they were purchased. Once all the spots in the main lot have been bought, juniors will be assigned to the lots in the park for the 22-23 school year.

Parking passes can be purchased on SchoolCashOnline.com for $50 beginning tomorrow. If you have any issues with the site, please email [email protected]. Any other parking questions can be directed to [email protected]. Thank you!

We can't wait to see all of our HMS Mustangs at Open House on Tuesday, August 2 from 3PM-6PM!! You will be able to pick up your schedule and meet your teachers! For 6th grade and new students, you will be able to pick up devices. HMS Swag and agenda books will be on sale as well!

Last week, GMSD hosted an incredible parent workshop. Allison Edwards spoke to parents about the emotional effects of social media on children. We are excited that Ms. Edwards has given us permission to video capture the lecture and post it on the GMSD Youtube Page for 14 calendar days. It's MAY, and we know how busy parents are.
