Think you're hydrated?

Hydration is about more than just drinking water. It's about consistently replacing the fluids and electrolytes your body loses throughout the day.

Signs of dehydration can include more than just dark urine..
• Headaches
• Fatigue
• Dizziness
• Muscle cramps
• Dry mouth or lips
• Poor concentration
• Increased heart rate

Easy ways to stay hydrated:
Carry a reusable water bottle
Eat water-rich foods like watermelon, cucumbers, and strawberries
Replace electrolytes during long workouts or hot days
Sip fluids consistently throughout the day instead of waiting until you're thirsty

Small habits can make a big difference in your energy, performance, and overall health. Especially during all this heat!

Let me know your favorite way to stay hydrated below! 💙

Do athletes not like their water? Why are they spitting it out!?

This is not what you think. It is probably a strategy called carb rinsing.

Research suggests that rinsing your mouth with a carbohydrate-containing sports drinks can activate receptors in the brain to potentially reduce perceived effort and improve performance during short, high-intensity exercise.

This is best for:
• High-intensity workouts lasting 30–70 minutes
• When trying to avoid stomach discomfort while engaging in intense short bouts of movement

For longer activity, carb rinsing isn't enough! Your body needs actual carbohydrates to maintain energy.

Have you ever heard of carb rinsing? What do you think?

Every rep has a purpose.
Every workout is a step toward becoming stronger, faster, and more resilient.

Your goals aren’t achieved by waiting for motivation—they’re achieved by showing up.

If you're active, your plate should do more than just "look the part." It should provide the fuel your body needs to train, recover, and perform.

A simple starting point:

50% Carbohydrates → Your body's preferred fuel source
25% Protein → Supports muscle repair, recovery, and adaptation
25% Fruits & Vegetables → Vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber to keep your body functioning at its best

Don't forget fats! Cook with them, add them to meals, and enjoy them for lasting energy, hormone health, and nutrient absorption.

Remember: This is a general guide, not a rule. Your plate may look different depending on your training volume, goals, time of day, or what feels satisfying to you and that's okay.

Breakfast doesn’t have to be instagram worthy, but it does need to be intentional.

There’s a spectrum:
- rushed grab-and-go
- overnight prep
- slow, cooked, sit-down meal

All are valid!

When life is busy, it’s easy to default to the quickest option. Small shifts, like planning ahead or adding one more component, can make a big difference in how you feel.

Make time for the things that make life feel better… starting with breakfast.

Coffee ≠ a meal.

Coffee can absolutely be part of your routine but it’s a stimulant, not fuel.

On its own, it doesn’t provide the energy, protein, carbs, or fats your body needs to stay satisfied and support training or daily demands.

When coffee is paired with a balanced meal, that’s when you get:
✔️ steady energy
✔️ better fullness and satisfaction
✔️ more stable focus and mood
✔️ real support for performance and recovery

Think of coffee as an add-on, not a substitute.
