Big congratulations to Houston High senior Cecilia Adkinson, named the 2026 GMSD Fine Arts Senior of the Year! 🎶

A standout member of the HHS choir program, Cecilia has spent her high school years helping others discover confidence, creativity and joy through the arts. This fall, she will continue her music education at Mississippi State University.

We are also incredibly grateful to Joy Thornton Williams of Main Street Realtors for supporting student artists through this year’s Fine Arts recognition program. Thanks to community partnerships like these, students across GMSD were celebrated all year long for their talents and achievements. ❤️🖤

High School Musical Theatre Awards!

Congratulations to our student orchestra for winning “Best Student Orchestra” at the annual High School Musical Theater Awards! We are so proud of all the student musicians in this ensemble! #hsmta901

We'd like to share just some of the fun we had last week at The 17th Annual Orpheum High School Musical Theatre Awards!

Our thespians joined students from 56 schools from 4 states to celebrate our love of musical theatre. Our nominees walked the red carpet, we enjoyed performances by our students in the opening and closing numbers, and we cheered for all the fantastic theatre from all over the region.

We'd like to once again congratulate our winners in the following categories for The Addams Family:

Houston High was also the first ever recipient of a new award: The Spotlight Award for Outstanding Transition Design and Ex*****on!
