Teacher Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of KCLC teachers vary depending on the age and abilities of their children.
Create a fun classroom management environment.
Prepare lessons and learning through play.
Establish intentional teaching based on the learning objectives of each child.
Promote social emotional skills that support confidence and mindfulness.
Assess developmentally appropriate materials and developmental goals for each child.
Teachers Skills and Qualifications
Ability to develop theme based lesson plans that allow the children experiences in the 5 domains.
Ability to bring literacy ALIVE with children individually and collectively.
Ability to observe early learning developmental standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Teacher Experience Requirements
Complete 21 hours of continuing educational each year.
Current CPR/First Aid Certification
Minimum High School with 2+ years of classroom experience
Prefer CDA, Associates and Bachelors in Early Childhood +Experience in the classroom at a DHS Licensed facility.
Prefer experience working in a 3 Star Rated DHS Center.
Pay starts at $10.00 per hour. Pay is based on education and experience.
