Madonna Learning Center MLC is a non-profit, faith-based school and vocational training center where children & adults with special needs can reach their full potential.

Madonna Learning Center, initially called "Madonna Day School", was founded in 1969 by three Benedictine Sisters from Ferdinand, Indiana. The Sisters envisioned a faith-based environment where the cognitive, social, emotional, spiritual, and physical developmental needs of children with disabilities could be realized. Madonna students range from 5 to 30 years of age.

Today we remember and celebrate the birthday of Sister Mary Mark, one of the women whose faith, vision, and dedication helped begin the story of Madonna Learning Center.

Sister Mary Mark was one of three Sisters of St. Benedict from Indiana, who came to Memphis in 1969 to start a school for children with special needs. That school became Madonna Day School and, eventually, the Madonna Learning Center we know today.

More than five decades later, her legacy continues at MLC. We are forever grateful for the foundation she helped build and the lives that have been touched because she said “Yes” to this mission. Happy Birthday, Sister Mary Mark! ❤️

Today we remember and celebrate the birthday of Sister Mary Mark, one of the women whose faith, vision, and dedication helped begin the story of Madonna Learning Center.
