Meet The Mustangs: We are continuing our Meet The Mustangs series by introducing Ms. Angela Whaley! Please join us in welcoming her BACK to the HHS family!

Ms. Whaley brings more than 30 years of experience teaching science. She has two daughters, Andrea and Anna Grace, and is “Mama Ang” to her grandson, Hudson, with another grandson on the way!

Ms. Whaley loves traveling and experiencing new places, cultures, and adventures. Some of her favorite trips have included taking students to Costa Rica and Iceland. She is looking forward to reconnecting with colleagues, getting to know her students, and teaching AP Biology for the first time!

Meet The Mustangs: We are continuing our Meet The Mustangs series by introducing Mrs. Charli Ardrey! Please join us in welcoming her to the HHS family!

Mrs. Ardrey earned her bachelor’s degree in fine art before completing her Master of Arts in Teaching in Art Education. This is her 18th year teaching visual art and her fourth year in GMSD. She previously served as the itinerant art teacher for Dogwood, Forest Hill, and Farmington Elementary Schools.

Mrs. Ardrey and her husband have been married for 14 years and have two children who attend Riverdale. Outside of art, she enjoys traveling, attending concerts, organizing, gardening, and working in the yard. She is looking forward to getting to know her students and watching them develop confidence in expressing themselves through art.

Meet The Mustangs: We are continuing our Meet The Mustangs series by introducing Ms. Meg Brice! Please join us in welcoming her to the HHS family!

Originally from Grayson, Georgia, Ms. Brice is a proud graduate of Georgia Southern University and brings 15 years of teaching experience to Houston. Her husband, Michael, is the golf coach at Rhodes College, and they have a 9-year-old son, Maverick, and two goldendoodles, Sadie and Goose.

When she is not chauffeuring her little athlete, Ms. Brice enjoys reading, traveling, and gardening. She is looking forward to building relationships and learning the Houston way!

Meet The Mustangs: We are continuing our Meet The Mustangs series by introducing Mr. Luis Herrera! Please join us in welcoming him to the HHS family!

Originally from Miami, Mr. Herrera studied mathematics at the University of West Florida in Pensacola. He brings 13 years of teaching experience from White Station High School in Memphis.

Outside of school, Mr. Herrera enjoys reading, swimming, and playing games. He is looking forward to learning alongside a new group of educators and helping grow Houston’s computer science department.

Meet The Mustangs: We are continuing our Meet The Mustangs series by introducing Ms. Karla-Ann Norton! Please join us in welcoming her to the HHS family!

Born in Memphis and raised in West Memphis, Ms. Norton graduated from Marion High School before earning her Bachelor of Science in Education from Arkansas State University. She spent the past nine years teaching PE and Health at Marion Junior High School, where she also coached basketball and volleyball.

Ms. Norton enjoys traveling and anything involving basketball or volleyball. She is most looking forward to helping students discover the value of staying active and pursuing lifelong wellness.
