So honored to judge the 2026 STEM Fair at Oxon Hill High School, MD yesterday and today, my third year, and these students never disappoint!
From 10th grade through seniors, the dedication and creativity on display were incredible. The fact that they had only two weeks to research, analyze data, and build their presentation boards makes it even more impressive 😲.
Huge applause for Ms. Jordana Azore, the ultimate chief cook and bottle washer. She flawlessly managed online and in-person presentations, coordinated logistics, and transformed the auditorium into a STEM showcase. She absolutely deserves a Coordinator of the Year award 🏆.
To these amazing students: stay curious and never stop learning. We’re cheering you on every step of the way! 💫

Slingshot Challenge - National Geographic Society The Slingshot Challenge, supported by the National Geographic Society and Paul G. Allen Family Foundation, is a platform where 13-18 year olds can voice their ideas about the future of conservation work.

Cindy Blackman Santana is a virtuoso American jazz and rock drummer and bandleader, known for her powerful, soulful playing and versatility. She was the drummer in Lenny Kravitz's band from 1992 to 2007 and again in 2014 & 2015, and is currently the regular touring drummer for Santana, having married guitarist Carlos Santana in 2010.
She is also the featured drummer on the Monday Night Football theme song.

More than 300 students from 43 historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) will showcase their tech talent and compete for jobs at Black Enterprise’s 10th Annual BE Smart Hackathon.

Hosted by American Airlines, the Nov. 5-8 coding competition in Charlotte gathers the largest pool of students in the event’s history.

This year, there are 310 students from 43 schools forming 62 teams.

🎽 Students & parents rocked their favorite team jerseys!

In just 75 minutes, students:
• Discovered how AI + stats shape coaching, training, fan insights, and policy
• Practiced teamwork, communication, and data storytelling with our TEACH method (Tell-back, Empathize, Assess, Collaborate, Harmonize)
• Turned sports numbers into a hypothesis, checked the facts, wrote headlines, and delivered one smart recommendation on: CTE, Sports Marketing, Sports Analyst, AI (ethical/unethical), and Fan Engagement - whew! 🙌
