🐾 WE’RE BACKKKK! 💙💛 Our amazing Bulldog team got off to an epic start to the school year yesterday!

We kicked things off with plenty of laughter as comedian Devin Seibold shared a heartfelt message about the powerful connection between laughter, relationships, and safety. And let’s just say… there was A LOT of laughter and joy in the room! 😂

Then, we capped off the day by bringing our community together for a movie in the park at the Gering Civic Plaza- enjoying a great evening with families, friends, and some meaningful conversations about the proposed Gering Middle School bond.

From laughter to connection to community … it was the perfect way to start a new school year.

🏗️ REIMAGINED GERING MIDDLE SCHOOL | BUILT BY LISTENING

Gering Public Schools is announcing a scaled-back facilities proposal for Gering Middle School ahead of the November general election.

After listening sessions and conversations with our community following the previously defeated bond election, the district went back to work ... reexamining the project, it's priorities and its cost.

The result is a reimagined proposal shaped by community feedback, with a focus on addressing GMS’s most critical facility, safety, learning and student needs while reducing the overall cost and tax impact by more than 63%.

This is a different proposal.

And we want our community to have the opportunity to understand what changed, what remains, what it will cost and why the district believes these improvements are needed.

💙 🍽 As we wrap up another summer, we want to give a heartfelt thank you to the SFE Food Service team along with district team at Gering Public Schools who helped provide THOUSANDS of meals for kids in our community.

From our weekly meal pack program to Gering Neighborhoods and hot meals served at Lincoln Elementary, your work ensured children had access to nutritious meals all summer long.

All incoming 7th grade students are required to have:
- A current physical
- A Tdap vaccination

Need to get your student's Tdap vaccine? We've made it easy! 💙 Panhandle Public Health District (PPHD) will be on-site during Gering Middle School Open House from 6:00–7:30 p.m. to provide required vaccinations.

⏳Our Summer Time Machine made a stop at the carnival today during Kids in the Kitchen with SFE! 🍋🍿

Campers squeezed fresh lemons for homemade lemonade, popped fresh popcorn, and made cotton candy magically swirl onto their cones.

❓ FAQ: Should families attend 6th grade and/or freshman orientation with their student?

While families are welcome on campus, orientation is designed to help students begin building confidence, making new connections, and taking that exciting first step into their next chapter. Many students enjoy experiencing the independence that comes with middle school and high school.

It must be back-to-school season! 💙 Today, Gering leaders came together to kick off a year of planning, collaboration, and excitement for the 2026–27 school year.

This year, you'll find us celebrating and leaning into the Heart of Gering Schools. It's the people who make this district special … our students, staff, families, and G-Town community. We look forward to celebrating the stories of YOU!

We were excited to welcome new Activities Director Jj Behrens and GHS Dean of Students John Einfalt to the Bulldog family while also celebrating Dr. Kory Knight and Crystal Palser as they begin new leadership roles.
