SuN Meals had an incredible turnout for our first distribution day, and we are so grateful to everyone who came out to participate. As with any new program, we do our best to anticipate needs and prepare accordingly. However, sometimes adjustments are necessary to ensure we can serve families as safely and efficiently as possible.

The turnout at Lemons Mill Elementary far exceeded our expectations, which is wonderful news, but it also created some traffic and logistical challenges. We want to be good neighbors and remain respectful of the residents and businesses surrounding our distribution sites. To help address these concerns, we have updated the meal pickup route for Lemons Mill beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

This new traffic pattern will improve efficiency, help reduce congestion, and allow us to better serve our community. Most importantly, it will help ensure that as many children as possible can receive meals each week while maintaining a safe and organized distribution process.

For those who have registered to pick up meals at Lemons Mill Elementary School, please use Lisle Road and enter through the Lisle Road Soccer Complex. The address for this entrance is 564 Lisle Road in Georgetown. Please see the map below.

As a reminder, meals are for children age 18 and under and are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, based on federal guidelines. Meal distribution at Lemons Mill will take place from 4-6pm while supplies last. While we use registration numbers to prepare for each meal distribution, registration does not guarantee that meals will be available when you arrive. To receive meals, you must be in line before the posted end time.

We appreciate everyone's patience, flexibility, and support as we continue to learn and grow this program. Our goal is to meet the needs of our community, and we look forward to serving families throughout the summer.

Megan Perin is the new principal of Eastern Elementary. Perin has served as the school’s assistant principal since 2024 and was previously a teacher at Eastern. She has been an educator for more than 15 years and has experience teaching elementary school in Kentucky, Ohio, and Alabama.

"I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as the next principal of Eastern Elementary School,” said Perin. “Eastern has a rich tradition of caring for students and cultivating their growth both academically and personally. There is truly no place like Eastern, and I look forward to partnering with our students, staff, families, and the community as we continue creating opportunities to help students thrive."

“We are thrilled to welcome Megan Perin as the new principal of Eastern Elementary School,” stated Stephanie Emmons, Assistant Superintendent of Student Learning for Scott County Schools. “Her dedication to the Eastern community, proven instructional leadership as assistant principal, and years of experience in elementary education make her the ideal candidate.”

Perin holds a Master of Arts in educational administration from Campbellsville University, Education Specialist certification in Instructional Leadership from University of the Cumberlands, a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Bellarmine University, and a bachelor’s degree from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.

Principal Perin will officially begin in her new role on July 1, 2026.

Scott County High School graduation is up next! Celebrate the SCHS Class of 2026 tomorrow morning (Saturday, May 30, 2026) at 10am at Cardinal Stadium located on the campus of Scott County High School. Gates open at 8:30am. Only those with a carpool parking permit will be allowed to park on the SCHS campus.

Guests with carpool parking permits must enter from Long Lick Road. All other guests may park at Royal Spring Middle School or Anne Mason Elementary School to take the free, air-conditioned, accessible shuttles. Please allow extra time, consider carpooling, and plan for increased traffic. See site map below for parking information.

It is graduation day for Phoenix Horizon Community! Celebrate the PHC Class of 2026 this evening (Thursday, May 28, 2026) at 6:30pm in the gym at Scott County Middle School located at 1080 Cardinal Drive. Parking and entry at the rear of the building.

Our annual graduate walking parade for the Class of 2026 is scheduled for this evening, Wednesday, May 27, 2026, starting at 6pm on Main Street in downtown Georgetown.

We understand that there is a chance of rain in the area this evening. We are going to make every attempt to make this special opportunity possible for our graduates and plan to continue even if it rains. However, in the event of lightning, we may be forced to cancel, and this could be a last-minute decision.

We wanted to make families aware in advance so you can plan accordingly. Bring an umbrella and join us as we celebrate the Class of 2026 from Great Crossing High School, Phoenix Horizon Community, and Scott County High School!

Graduation for the Great Crossing High School Class of 2026 will be held in one week, on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 7pm at Birds Nest Stadium. Gates open at 5:30pm. Please see the site map attached for parking information for Great Crossing.

There will be no campus entry off US460 at Elkhorn Crossing School. Entry into the Birds Nest lot from Stamping Ground Road is also prohibited. Limited handicap parking is marked on the map and available for those who have a government-issued handicap placard on a first-come, first-serve basis. Golf carts will be available to assist guests.

The rain date for Great Crossing High School graduation is Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 7pm at Birds Nest Stadium. In the event of a second rainout, the ceremony would be moved indoors on May 30. If an indoor program is necessary, a ticket would be required for entry. Each graduate will receive five (5) indoor tickets.
