Scott County High School is excited to announce Cody Logan as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director.

Over the past six years, Mr. Logan has served as a business and marketing teacher at Scott County High School, where he has helped build a positive school culture through student leadership and school pride. During his time at SCHS, SC DECA has grown into one of Kentucky's largest student chapters, producing state champions and national qualifiers. He has also helped lead The B Team student section, increasing student engagement and support for Scott County Athletics. For the past year and a half, Mr. Logan has additionally served as Assistant Athletic Director.

Prior to education, Mr. Logan worked in sports and media production, contributing to broadcasts and events for organizations including the SEC Network, Keeneland, Icthus Music Festival, and the Olympic Games. Outside of school, Mr. Logan is married to his high school sweetheart, Nicole, and together they have two sons, Ethan and Jace. Much of their time is spent at the baseball field, watching their boys compete and enjoying the baseball lifestyle as a family.

What a week it has been celebrating the Class of 2026! ๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ’™

Senior Week was filled with laughter, memories, and moments these students will never forget. It all started with the Throwback Trip, where seniors returned to visit the teachers who helped shape them throughout elementary and middle school. From there, they gathered for Senior Sunset โ€” one final evening together to relax, reflect, and watch the sun set on their K-12 journey.

At Senior Breakfast, students received their graduation regalia and were inspired by an incredible message from Chip Southworth as they prepared to take their next steps. Senior Field Day brought out the kid in everyone with parachutes, kickball, friendly competition, and even a foam cannon to make the day unforgettable.

The celebration continued with the Senior Parade, where our community came together to cheer on seniors from all of our high schools as they prepare to begin the next chapter of their lives.

And tomorrow, we reach the final milestone โ€” Graduation. ๐ŸŽ“

We are so proud of everything this class has accomplished and cannot wait to see where life takes each and every one of them. Once a Cardinal, always a Cardinal. โค๏ธ

Earning the title of valedictorian represents far more than academic excellence โ€” it reflects years of discipline, perseverance, leadership, and commitment to success. For John Brody Bowlin, that commitment has defined his high school career at Scott County High School.

Bowlin has earned the distinction of valedictorian for the Scott County High School Class of 2026 while balancing rigorous academics, athletics, fine arts, and service. A Cardinal Scholar, Brody completed seven AP courses and ten dual credit courses during high school, accumulating approximately 48 college credit hours and allowing him to begin college as a sophomore-level student.

In addition to earning a 34 on the ACT, Brody has been actively involved in football, track, choir, Beta Club, peer tutoring, and numerous service projects throughout his time at SCHS. His accomplishments in music include being selected for All-State Choir, highlighting the well-rounded nature of his high school experience.

โ€œWhat motivated me throughout high school changed over time,โ€ Brody reflected. โ€œAt first it was my parents, because they always wanted me to keep straight As. As I got older it became more my desire than theirs to keep my grades up. They would not have cared if I got a B, but I would have.โ€

While both of his parents teach at SCHS, Brody credits his success not simply to his environment, but to the internal drive and expectations he set for himself throughout high school.

Known for his determination both in the classroom and on the field, Brody competed as a long snapper for the Cardinals, continuing a proud family tradition. Next fall, he will attend Eastern Kentucky University where he plans to major in mathematics and pursue a career as a research scientist while also continuing his football career. Brody will become a third-generation EKU football player, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Wayne Bowlin, and his father, Michael Bowlin.

Among the courses that challenged him most, Brody pointed to AP Chemistry and Discrete Mathematics as classes that pushed him academically.

When asked what advice he would give students trying to balance academics and athletics, Brody offered simple but encouraging words. โ€œItโ€™s not as hard as you think. Athletics definitely take up a lot of your time, but itโ€™s possible as long as you push yourself.โ€

Brody has also been recognized with the prestigious EKU Regentโ€™s Award scholarship. The son of Michael and Tasha Bowlin, and brother to twin sister Ella, he has been supported throughout his academic journey by family, teachers, coaches, and classmates.

Through years of hard work, leadership, and dedication, John Brody Bowlin has earned the respect and admiration of the Scott County High School community. Congratulations to Brody Bowlin, valedictorian of the Scott County High School Class of 2026.
