‼️ Important changes for the law regarding passing a stopped school bus 🚌

With the new school year starting next week, let's make safety a top priority by knowing the rules of the road!

Drivers need to know how a new Kentucky law (KRS 189.370) impacts what they should do if they see a bus with red flashing lights and an extended stop arm:

• When this occurs on a road with more than two lanes that doesn't have a raised or unpaved median, traffic in all directions and lanes must stop.

• The only exception to this law is on a four-lane or more road that includes a raised or unpaved median. In this instance, traffic opposite to the extended stop arm may proceed.

I want to give a huge shoutout to Ms. Sharon Flynt! She is the Horticulture Agent with Scott County Cooperative Extension Family and Consumer Sciences and today she helped host our Family Container Garden program! We learned about some varieties of garden plants that can grow in a container as well as ways to ensure success for the entirety of the plants life.

Thank you to the families that came out and put together a container plant of their very own to take home! I cannot wait to see your tomatoes 🍅

🌱 Wanting to start your own garden or plant something at home? The extension office has a seed library available where you can go get in season seeds to plant for yourself! The office is located in Charles Brooking Park off of US 25. Currently has a ton of construction going on out front for an amazing expansion 🚧 you cannot miss it!
