Before our students walk through the doors, our PHC team is already hard at work learning, collaborating, and growing together during professional development. These days of training are about more than preparing lessons, they’re about preparing hearts, minds, and strategies to meet every student where they are.

Before welcoming students and families back, Heather Brown, Tommy Fitzpatrick, and Kelli Lee represented Scott County Schools at the Kentucky Association of School Administrators (KASA) Annual Leadership Institute. Together, they led a breakout session titled, “From Placement to Purpose: Redesigning Alternative Education in Kentucky.”

Their message encouraged school leaders to view alternative education as more than a placement. It is a pathway to opportunity, belonging, growth, and purpose. Every student deserves a learning environment where they feel supported, valued, and empowered to succeed.

That message connects perfectly with this year’s PHC theme: “Find Your Path, Find Your Purpose!”
