The GISD 2026-2027 school year starts on August 19th. We understand that school zones can become quite chaotic, especially during peak drop-off and pick-up times when the influx of vehicles is at its highest. Each year, we face the same situation at the beginning of the school year, where it seems like traffic is at a standstill. However, it is worth noting that this surge in congestion typically subsides after the first week as routines are established and families adjust to the new school schedule.

In light of this, we kindly urge all drivers to approach these busy times with patience and understanding. It’s crucial to remember that our young children are observing our behavior behind the wheel. They are learning how to respond to traffic frustrations, so it’s especially important for us to set a positive example. By demonstrating calmness and consideration, we not only contribute to a safer environment but also teach valuable lessons in respect and patience to the future generation.

Additionally, we want to inform everyone that our officers will be monitoring school zones heavily during this time to ensure safety and compliance with traffic regulations. Let’s work together to make our school zones as safe and manageable as possible for everyone involved.

We got some pretty sweet news Everette Williams Elementary, Georgetown ISD this week! Last year we truly leveled up and this year we will rise like never before!! Proud is an understatement of the hard work of some of the most tenacious educators ever!

What a GREAT day to be a Roadrunner! 💙💛

Today was Meet the Teacher, and there is truly nothing better than seeing Williams Elementary filled with our Roadrunners and their families again! From meeting teachers to finding classrooms and reconnecting with our school community, the excitement for a new year was everywhere. 🐦✨

And today gave us another reason to celebrate! As we prepare to welcome our Roadrunners back for an incredible year, Williams Elementary officially has a Locker on our campus! 🎉

This is a BIG win for our community and another way we can help ensure our students and families have access to the resources and essentials they need.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this possible—from our counselors and principal to Ashley Fraser and the amazing team at The Locker. We are so grateful for the people who continue to pour into our Roadrunner community.

Our building was FULL today, and soon our classrooms will be too. 💙💛
