A big thank you to everyone who helped volunteer at our compost and debris clean-up event! Our team had so much fun and we collected a lot! Enjoy fresh air and live classical music at the Arbor Day Celebration with the SU Sustainability Ambassadors on November 4th! All are welcome to attend our tree planting ceremony on the Academic Mall from 1pm-2pm where we will be replacing the fallen tree from the 2020 winter freeze and speaking about the importance of our beloved shade canopy. Refreshments and snacks will be provided.

Have items you don’t want to take home with you? Fret not, Habitat for Humanity will be on campus Thursday and Friday to accept any move out donations! Swipe for locations!

✅ Acceptable donations: furniture, appliances, decor, lamps, rugs, etc.
❌ NOT acceptable donations: clothes, shoes, bedding, or electronics (those items can be put in the Goodwill Bins around campus or donated to in Mundy 125)!

Remember to only donate clean, non-broken, and/or non-ripped items that someone would want to use again! ♻️

Happy last Flora and Friday of the semester! This week is the Black Field Cricket. These crickets are an invasive species from Australia, and are known by most as pests. However, they are quite smart and have been shown to recognize odors and even have the ability to learn when rewarded sufficiently.

Happy Arbor Day!! Did you know Southwestern University has been recognized as a Tree Campus Higher Education institution by the Arbor Day Foundation for the past 5 years? This designation was first achieved in 2017 thanks to the hard work of Environmental Studies Capstone students Rebeca Huteson, Alex Morris, Colleen Nair, Olivia Ruane, and Vallery Rusu! 🌳
