While summer may have started, we are still celebrating our victories! Math Pentathlon is a cooperative, volunteer based club where kids engage in interactive math games that help develop problem-solving skills along with math fluency, spatial concepts, computational concepts, and logical reasoning.
These students practiced all year and competed against hundreds of schools in Texas and thousands of students. Since most of our students medaled last year in competition, they had to compete in a higher bracket with other medaled students (The best of the best). Our school and one other Austin school were the ONLY TWO schools in the ENTIRE STATE OF TEXAS to receive a gold medal! Last year we received a silver medal, so we did better this year than last.
Congratulate all the students who participated and the amazing Parent Volunteer Coaches for all their hard work and dedication to our Gateway students. Go Gators!
