Congratulations to Cole Gauche for being selected as one of our two Outstanding 4-H'ers for 2026!
Cole is a 13 year member of 4-H and is in the Beefs Up 4-H Club. He is a member of the Junior Fairboard, currently serving as Vice President and a youth representative on the 4-H Committee. He has held multiple offices within his club, served one year as a camp counselor, taken goat projects, market chickens, commercial swine, and crop projects. Cole says one of the most important things he has learned through 4-H is public speaking and hard work, which will help him in his future employment. His nominator said, "What sets Cole apart is not simply the number of leadership positions he has held or the awards he has earned, but the character he displays every day. He is dependable, respectful, humble, and always willing to step forward when help is needed." These skills, traits, and experiences have helped him grow into a leader who is beyond ready for what comes next and has made an impact on our county 4-H program.
The Outstanding 4-H'er is the highest honor we bestow on our Brown County 4-H'ers each year. Two are selected annually. Youth must first be nominated by an advisor, complete an application, and participate in an interview to be selected. We announced awards on Monday night of the fair. Each individual receives physical awards sponsored by the Paul Woods Family and a $500 cash award from the 4-H Committee.
