We are so proud to announce that our Elementary program has once again achieved the highest level of recognition by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), a reflection of our continued commitment to the highest standards of authentic Montessori education.
AMI is the global organization that upholds the integrity and authenticity of Montessori education around the world. Recognition by AMI means that our classrooms, materials, and teaching practices align with the original Montessori principles and standards that have inspired generations of learners. Every three years, our school undergoes an in-depth consultation and review process to ensure we are maintaining these rigorous standards. Each time, it reaffirms our dedication to authentic Montessori practice.
We’re so proud of our incredible guides, staff, and community for making this continued recognition possible.

In response to the recent devastating floods, we are organizing a collection of supplies to support both impacted individuals and local animal shelters. If you would like to contribute, please bring donations to the CMS office by the end of the day on Thursday, July 17 (Office hours are 8am–3pm, M-F).
One of our very generous parent volunteers is organizing this drive and has included a list of the most-needed supplies below. If you have questions or comments, please reach out to Caroline at 706-575-3549.
“I regularly feel overwhelmed by the idea of caring for anyone beyond our own household. If you’re in that space right now, and all you can do is hug your little ones a little tighter tonight - that is more than enough.” ~Caroline
P.S. It’s not lost on us that minority and low-wealth communities often receive less and slower aid. If you're feeling that tension too, please consider supporting organizations committed to equitable disaster response: World Central Kitchen: https://wck.org, or Mutual Aid Disaster Relief: https://mutualaiddisasterrelief.org
MOST NEEDED ITEMS FOR PEOPLE:
• Non-perishable food
• Diapers / baby wipes
• Hygiene items
• Bleach
• Socks
• Trash bags
• Work gloves
MOST NEEDED ITEMS FOR THE ANIMAL SHELTER:
• Unscented bleach
• Disposable gloves
• Carriers
• Crates
• Towels
• Unopened, unexpired dog or cat food*
*While pet food is appreciated, it’s currently the least-needed item for the shelter we’re supporting due to generous recent donations.

Unfortunately, we are making the call to cancel Friday's Good Earth event. With an elevated chance of severe thunderstorms and possible hail in the forecast for Friday afternoon, we will not be able to host the petting zoo, barrel rides, and other fun outdoor activities we had planned. We are super disappointed. We tried our best to stay optimistic about the weather with high hopes that it would just be cloudy or drizzle a little, but sadly that is not what is being reported. Unfortunately, it's not possible for these outdoor events and especially the animals to be moved indoors.

At CMS we take learning beyond the classroom and create unforgettable experiences. This week nine of our adolescent students are in Nijmegen, Netherlands, participating in the Sustainable Development Games. And fun fact: CMS is the only school attending from the United States! They are with other Montessori students from The Netherlands, Scotland, Germany, China, Bulgaria, India, Morocco, Bolivia, and Puerto Rico. The SD Games harnesses the power of sports, cultural exchange, and international collaboration to address pressing global challenges. Through these games, they aim to inspire and empower young people to become proactive agents of positive change in their communities and beyond. It's been an incredible experience for these students and we can’t wait to hear all about it next week when they return! Global Association of Montessori Education and Sport
