Dear IS students, alums, and supporters,
In opposition to the suspension of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, the Latina History Project, Feminist Studies, Latin American & Border Studies, Race & Ethnicity Studies, and International Studies assert the value to Southwestern University of undocumented students and students/staff/faculty from mixed-status families. We sit and stand in solidarity with all of those affected by this policy change and with all of those working against racism, white supremacy, and xenophobia. We understand that the uncertainty and disruption produced by these policy changes make learning more difficult, and we offer our support.
In solidarity,
The International Studies Committee

Screening of SU-produced German WWII documentary,
“Out of the Shadows: German Stories of Love, War and Faith.”
Thursday, March 30, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. in Olin 105
Followed by a panel discussion with the film’s creators, including Executive Producer Dr. Michelle Reyes and Dr. Erika Berroth, Director Whitney Milam, as well as other members of the filmmaking organization.
The film chronicles the lives of 8 German men and women who lived in Germany as children during WWII and who were placed in Russian concentration camps. The personal narratives challenge traditional dichotomies of perpetrators and victims and reveal show how these survivors of significant childhood trauma were able to find healing and forgiveness in the aftermath of the war.
