Last week our Lady Bears took on the Hutto Hippos in volleyball.

Both 8th grade teams came away with two-set victories, with a B team score of 25-8, 25-21 and an A team score of 25-13, 25-9. For the B team, Violet N. and Blake C. stepped up to make some nice plays on defense, and for the A team Morgan H. passed well while Ella H. did a great job distributing sets to get all hitters involved.

The 7th grade B Team came out strong in the first set against Hutto, but ultimately fell to the Hippos in 3. Audrey L. led the team in passing, and Sydney M. served 100%. The A Team started a little slow, fighting back from a deficit to win the first set 25-20, then came out on fire in the second set with Candice M.’s 13 serve streak and Cora W.’s impressive digs. All of the hitters played strong at the net and contributed to the 25-10 team win.

Come out and support the Lady Bears this week as they take on Tippit! Eighth grade will be at home and 7th grade at Tippit.

Our Bear Cross Country team had an amazing outing at our district meet last week, ending the season on a high note! Nearly everyone on the team beat their personal best time. Cross country is no easy sport and these athletes showed true GRIT all season! We couldn’t be prouder. Go Bears!

Mrs. Urban is excited to announce that Tara R. has completed the Cavern Reader Challenge and has earned a field trip to Inner Space Caverns in April. Tara not only completed 8 books to earn the field trip, she completed all 20 books on the list.

Mrs. Urban is very proud of Tara, and looks forward to more students completing the Cavern Reader Challenge.

Your Benold Bears football teams played great on Tuesday against Farley, willing all of our games! The 7th grade B Team won 33-6. Playing well for the Bears were Ben B, Case H, and the entire defense! The 7th grade A Team won 24-6, scoring very quickly! Playing well were AJ H, Troy C, and Mark A. The 8th grade B Team had a night off since Farley didn't have a B Team but our 8th Grade A Team won 22-0. Standouts include Bryson H, Mason M, and the defensive line!
