The past 2 days, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Kindergarten students from Long Neck Elementary School to our Sussex Central Farm for a fun-filled day of hands-on learning and exploration!
Throughout their visit, students had the opportunity to learn about tractor and lawnmower safety, explore marine life through an interactive obstacle course, discover the life cycle of a sunflower while planting seeds in the greenhouse, and spend time feeding and petting our farm animals. The day was filled with excitement, curiosity, and meaningful experiences that connected students to agriculture, nature, and animal care.
We loved seeing so many smiles, questions, and eager learners throughout the day. Thank you to the students, teachers, and chaperones from Long Neck Elementary for visiting us and making the days so special!

The Sussex Central FFA and Agriculture Department are incredibly grateful for our partnership with the Howard T. Ennis students. We truly enjoy introducing and teaching them about the world of agriculture.
Yesterday, with the help of our Sussex Central students and FFA members, we had the opportunity to provide Howard T. Ennis students with meaningful, hands-on agricultural experiences. Students interacted with our livestock by feeding them, walking them, and simulating shearing. They also created their own flower bouquets using pruners and planted sunflower seeds to take home and watch grow throughout the summer.
We had the opportunity to host our own in-house livestock show, where our livestock showmen helped Sussex Central Howard T. Ennis students participate in a real-world livestock show experience.
We are thankful for the opportunity to share the importance of agriculture and show that agriculture is for everyone.

Women across Delaware agriculture help keep our farms, families, and communities thriving! Their dedication and hard work shape the future of farming every day.
