Our Media Arts Village Film Festival Awards honored the incredible creativity, storytelling, and technical talent of our student filmmakers. From powerful narratives to outstanding editing, cinematography, hilarious cuts, and great sound design this year’s festival showcased the hard work and passion of our media arts students.

This week, we proudly sent off our Law & Justice seniors at the annual Gavel Ceremony. ⚖️🎓

We celebrated the dedication, leadership, and accomplishments of the Law & Justice Class of 2026 as they prepare for the next chapter of their journey.

A special moment of the ceremony came as Luke Griesser, Class of 2025, returned to represent the Ratcliff family in presenting the Lucas Ratcliff Award for Excellence in Mock Trial to Jonas Sanneman. We were also thrilled to welcome back so many members of the Class of 2025 who returned to support this wonderful tradition and celebrate our seniors.

Congratulations, Law & Justice Class of 2026! Your future is bright, and we can’t wait to see the impact you make. 🐉🎉

From freshmen to seniors, last week was a full week of mock trials in the Law & Justice Village at Elkhorn Crossing School — 7 trials in 6 days!

From opening statements and witness examinations to objections and closing arguments, our students stepped into real-world legal roles and showcased incredible growth in communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and professionalism.

The week also included the annual Junior-Senior L&J hike, and what a blast it was! It was a beautiful day to take in the nature of Scott County while building relationships and making memories together. Special thanks to Mrs. Lindsay Burgoon for leading the adventure with her outstanding expeditionary skills! 🌲🥾

We are so proud of the hard work, dedication, and authentic learning experiences happening every day in the Law & Justice Village!

Recently, our Law & Justice Village juniors partnered with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office to help put new recruits through rigorous witness examination practice. Students took on the role of attorneys, asking thoughtful questions and helping deputies prepare for the realities of testifying in court.

Experiences like this give our students authentic opportunities to build communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills while learning directly alongside professionals in the field. We are so grateful for community partnerships that help bring learning to life at Elkhorn Crossing School!

Teacher Appreciation Week at Elkhorn Crossing School has been extra special thanks to the incredible generosity of our local community, students, and families!

A huge thank you to McDonald’s and Clark’s for donating breakfast, Frank’s and Lay’s for the delicious donuts, Hunt’s Brothers Pizza for breakfast pizzas, Giovanni’s Pizza, Dutch Bros Coffee, and Dunkin’ Donuts for providing coffee and donuts for our staff. We also appreciate Raising Cane’s for donating tea and lemonade.

We are so grateful to Cattleman’s for treating our team to a wonderful baked potato bar and salad lunch. Your continued support is truly appreciated! A special thank you also goes to Walmart for the beautiful personalized cake featuring icons representing each of our career villages. Our staff absolutely loved it! Walmart also generously donated a gift bag that was presented to our ECS Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Sunda.

Additionally, thank you to the businesses who donated Teacher Appreciation gifts for our staff members. A huge thank you to Wendt’s Wildlife, Stepping Stone Farm, Kentucky Kingdom, King’s Island, Cincinnati Zoo, Louisville Zoo, Cincinnati Reds, VIP Car Wash, Culver’s, Kid’s First Education, Fizz Facial Bar, Bluegrass Medical Aesthetics, and Bree’s Kitchen for donating passes, gift cards, and other generous gifts to help us celebrate our amazing teachers and staff.

We also want to sincerely thank our amazing ECS families for donating gift cards, treats, and other goodies to help fuel and encourage our staff throughout the week. Your thoughtfulness and support mean more than you know, and our staff felt loved and appreciated because of your generosity! 💙

Tonight, they were recognized at the district awards celebration for their outstanding dedication, hard work, and commitment to the students and staff of Elkhorn Crossing School. These ladies consistently go above and beyond to make ECS a welcoming, supportive, and inspiring place for students to learn and grow.
