Tomorrow, Friday, August 7, we will have our doors open from 12:00–3:00 p.m. for all new students and incoming ninth graders to stop by before the first day of school.

This is a great opportunity to:

🧱 Get comfortable before the first day
🧱 Meet members of our ECS staff and ask questions

No registration is required. Just stop by anytime between 12:00 and 3:00 p.m.

Our ECS staff had a great day at this year’s district PD Palooza! We were proud to be well represented throughout the event:

⭐️Mrs. Sunda was announced as the Scott County Schools High School Teacher of the Year. This recognition is well-deserved, and ECS is so proud of her!
📚 Dr. Adams, Mr. Peters, Mrs.Sambrook, Mrs. Burrows, Mr. Burgoon, and Mrs. Thornsbury led sessions to inspire, engage, and empower other educators in the district. Wow!
🎸 Mr. Tackett rocked the stage as part of the live staff/student band.
🤠 The theme of the event was Rodeo Round-Up, and
there was no horsing around at today’s PD Palooza!Our ECS staff came dressed, determined, and ready to compete for the Spirit Stick!

The Rodeo Round-Up may be over, but the energy is just getting started! Our ECS team is saddled up and ready for an amazing school year. Let’s BUILD something great, brick by brick! 💙🧱

We are proud to announce the launch of our new district-wide Army JROTC program, expanding the career pathways available to students in Scott County and creating even more opportunities to discover their passions and prepare for the future.

Please join us in welcoming Retired Lieutenant Colonel Todd Reed to Scott County Schools as our new Army JROTC Instructor. With a distinguished military career and a passion for developing young leaders, Mr. Reed will help students build leadership, character, citizenship, confidence, and teamwork while preparing them for success in college, careers, military service, and life.

Beginning this school year, students from Great Crossing High School, Scott County High School, and Phoenix Horizon Community will have the opportunity to participate in this exciting new program, which will be housed at Scott County Middle School. Students had the opportunity to add this course to their scheduling requests this past spring, and we are excited to see this program continue to grow in the future. Welcome to Scott County Schools, Todd Reed!

ECS doors will be open on Friday, August 7th from 12:00-3:00pm for any incoming freshmen or new students wishing to see their classrooms/village before the start of the school year. This is a drop-in event. 9th graders will receive their schedules that morning at their home high school orientations.

Elkhorn Crossing School is proud of all of the Scott County Career and Technical Education teachers who represented our district this week at KACTE’s Summer Program in Louisville.

A special congratulations goes to our Biomedical Sciences Village teachers who were selected to present a conference session titled, “Bridging the Lab and the Classroom: Cross-Curricular Integration in Biomedical Sciences.”
