We are starting our FCCLA membership drive and have the opportunity to affiliate an unlimited number of eligible students for $1400 (normally it is a $20 fee per student and last year we had 140 members). We would love to pay that fee to ease the burden of student fees. We would welcome any amount of donations to get us to our goal!

Last day in Washington, D.C.: after earning two gold medals we ventured to the Museum of the Bible (this was incredible!), then to Georgetown and finally made our way back to dinner at Old Ebbitt Grill (10/10 recommend!).
This has been an incredible trip with even better students to be around for 7 days. We would like to give a big thank you to our George West Education Foundation and George West ISD school board and administrators, and for wonderful donors who made this trip possible. Being in our nation’s capital during the 250th birthday will be something we will never forget!

Great news from DC! Grace Alaniz received GOLD at FCCLA Nationals in Focus on Children, Level 2, and Carlee Johnson received GOLD in Career Investigation, Level 3! We are so proud of you and how well you represented George West FCCLA!

Day 4 in DC: after Carlee competed, we ventured out to the National Museum of American History, the Washington Monument and then scootered to the Lincoln Memorial where the crowd gathered started singing the national anthem at sunset (such a beautiful, unforgettable moment!) We ended the night at Kilwins Ice Cream Shop and people watched.
