AP SUCCESS IN ACTION! 🎓

Gentry Pioneers are earning college credit before they even graduate — and this year's results are worth celebrating!

👏 89 passing AP scores this year, up more than 40% from last year
🎓 267 estimated college course hours earned
💰 $320,400 in estimated college costs saved for our students and families

And two Gentry AP courses achieved 100% passing rates!

⭐ Our inaugural AP Seminar, taught by Kari Cantrell
🎨 AP 2-D Art and Design, taught by Stephanie Hoyle

These results represent more than numbers. They reflect students willing to challenge themselves, teachers who go above and beyond, and a school district committed to giving students opportunities to be successful at the next level.

Advanced Placement courses help students experience college-level work while they're still in high school — building academic confidence and skills while potentially earning college credit and saving families money along the way.

We are incredibly proud of our students and grateful to the teachers who helped make these achievements possible!

Great students. Dedicated teachers. Strong futures. ❤️🖤

❤️🖤 Gentry Proud!

A big thank you to the Gentry High School Academic Boosters for spreading some appreciation around town this week! 🎉

The GHS Booster Club stopped by to show some love to the teams who work behind the scenes every day to keep Gentry Public Schools running strong — our Central Office, Maintenance and Custodial teams, IT Team and Bus Barn!

We are so grateful for the people who keep our schools moving, our technology working, our facilities cared for and our students and staff supported. Thank you for all you do! 🍎

And while you're showing your Gentry pride, be sure to follow the GHS Boosters for updates, events and opportunities to get involved. They’re also inviting community members to join their Volunteer GroupMe and be part of the action! ❤️🖤

Thank you, GHS Boosters, for loving on our Gentry team! We are better together.

🏈 Small in Numbers. BIG on Talent.

Only 30 players. A new starting quarterback. And a 4A-1 Conference loaded with tough competition.

If you think that means the Gentry Pioneers are headed for a down year, think again.

Head coach Tyler Clark sees a team that is smart, tough, experienced and — most importantly — committed to each other and the revitalized Gentry football tradition.

“I’d rather have 30 players who bring that warrior mentality every Friday night than 50 who don’t,” Clark said. “These players have bought into our program, and they have the capability to be a very good football team.”

Junior Semmie Guenther takes over at quarterback after the graduation of three-year starter Talan Williams, and he’ll have plenty of weapons around him — including four returning offensive linemen, a talented group of receivers and a physical stable of running backs.

And the Pioneers aren't just talking about making the playoffs. They expect to be there.

“We get off the bus expecting to win,” Clark said.

That's the mentality in Gentry. ❤️🤍🏈

Read the full season preview and meet the 2026 Pioneers as they prepare to take on the 4A-1 Conference. The season opens on the road Aug. 28 at Paris, and the first home game is Friday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. against Jay, Okla.

BIG NEWS FOR PIONEER STUDENTS! 🎉

Beginning this year, currently enrolled Gentry Public Schools students in grades K–12 can receive complimentary admission to regular-season HOME athletic events!

We want more Pioneers in the stands—supporting classmates, strengthening our student sections, building school spirit, and giving students and families another way to connect with our schools.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:

To receive complimentary admission, students must be currently enrolled at Gentry Public Schools and wear:

• Gentry Pioneer apparel; or
• Maroon and white; or
• For GHS students, the announced student-section theme

We want every Gentry student to have the opportunity to participate. Students who need assistance with an appropriate Pioneer spirit item for admission may contact their building administration.

Students receiving complimentary admission must still go through the ticket line at each event. Ticket staff will be able to verify current Gentry student enrollment as needed, and each student will receive a ticket so we can accurately track attendance. Attire alone does not qualify someone for complimentary admission—this opportunity is only for currently enrolled Gentry Public Schools students.

GRADES K–5:

Students in Grade 5 and below are strongly encouraged to attend with a parent or responsible adult who remains available throughout the event.

WITH THIS OPPORTUNITY COME EXPECTATIONS:

The success of this opportunity depends on all of us working together to make it work well. We appreciate families keeping appropriate supervision in mind and students helping by demonstrating good behavior, sportsmanship, and respect throughout each event.

Students are expected to remain on the home side and in designated spectator/common areas, follow school and event staff directions, and represent Gentry well. Complimentary admission may be denied or revoked when expectations are not followed. Our shared commitment to these expectations will help make this an opportunity we can continue to offer.

Increased family attendance and concession activity may also help offset some of the reduction in student admission revenue. Participation, operations, supervision needs, and overall financial impact will be monitored throughout the year as we evaluate the program and its continuation in future years.

ALREADY PURCHASED A SEASON PASS?

Purchased an individual student season pass? Contact Catherine Clark regarding a refund. We are also lowering the price of our family season pass to reflect complimentary student admission. Families who already purchased one may contact Catherine for a refund of the difference in price.

LOCAL BUSINESSES — WANT TO HELP?

Businesses can help support student attendance by sponsoring a single game, a sport for a season, multiple sports/events, or the entire school year. Contact Athletic Director Brent Hester to explore options that can include recognition through banners/signage, announcements, and other athletic sponsorship opportunities.

A FEW FINAL DETAILS:

Complimentary student admission applies to regular-season home athletic events only and does not include postseason contests, reserved seating, fundraisers, or other special events with separate admission requirements.

We’re excited for more Pioneers in the stands, more families connected to our schools, and an even stronger home atmosphere! Thank you for helping us make this opportunity a success for our students and schools.

Questions about complimentary student admission may be directed to Athletic Director Brent Hester by phone or email. Wear the maroon. Bring the energy. Support your Pioneers. ❤️🤍

🏐 AAA Benefit Game Tonight! 🏐

Just like that, our athletic seasons are underway!

Tonight's home volleyball games are designated as an Arkansas Activities Association (AAA) Benefit Game. A Benefit Game is an additional game allowed by the AAA, with proceeds helping support the AAA Catastrophic Insurance Fund. The benefit game allows us to add an extra volleyball game to our schedule while supporting this important fund.

Important Admission Information:

Only AAA passes can be accepted for tonight's games. Unfortunately, staff passes/badges, athletic season passes, senior citizen passes, and other passes cannot be accepted for this event.

The same admission policy will apply tomorrow night when our football team travels to Ozark for an AAA Benefit Game.

We appreciate your understanding and hope to see Pioneer fans in the stands supporting our volleyball teams tonight!

Go Pioneers!
