🎄 Hope at Christmas: Support for Gentry Families

The holiday season should be a time of joy, but we know it can also bring added financial stress for families.

Hope at Christmas works to ensure children across Benton County can experience the joy of the season without families having to choose between everyday essentials and Christmas celebration. Through the program, eligible families receive holiday gifts, winter essentials and support during one of the most challenging times of the year.

For Gentry families who may need assistance, applications are completed online, followed by an in-person interview in the fall.

Who qualifies?

Families must:
• Be a Benton County resident
• Have children ages 0–18 (pregnant mothers also qualify)
• Receive SNAP benefits — which provides automatic qualification

Families may receive Christmas assistance from only one organization. Applications are cross-checked with other community partners. Receiving assistance from multiple organizations may result in denial and ineligibility for up to two years.

There are also ways our community can help, including Adopt & Shop, donating gifts or essentials, and volunteering during interview and distribution days.

If your family could benefit from Hope at Christmas, we encourage you to learn more and apply. ❤️

October began with our fruit and vegetable afternoon snack, made possible through the USDA Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program! On the very first day of the program, our students got to enjoy delicious, crisp apple slices—and it was a huge hit! We love seeing our students smile as they fuel up with healthy, fresh treats to power through the day. 🥦 🍊

So Much to Celebrate at Gentry Primary!

The first Friday of the month is a big day at Gentry Primary. It’s our Awards Assembly!

We started by celebrating our Kindness Winners. Our world needs more kindness! At Gentry, Primary we define kindness as acting with understanding, generosity, and care. These students showed others that they care by including others, offering help, and making sure their classmates felt welcomed and valued. For example, when they noticed someone feeling lonely, they invited them to join in at lunch or recess.

You don’t need a cape to be a hero. All you need to do is care. Kindness is a superpower!

Next, we celebrated our LAMPS Winners!

Kindergarten Parent Night was a special evening at Gentry Primary!

Our kindergarten students were excited to share their song with their families and show off a little of what they’ve been learning this year. Parents also had the opportunity to hear important information about kindergarten learning, growth, and what to expect throughout the school year.

You may have seen our post about First Grade Parent Night and now Kindergarten and be wondering… “What about Second Grade?”

Don’t worry. We haven’t forgotten about them! Second Grade Parent Night is coming up on October 6th! We can’t wait to welcome our second grade families!
