Do you have questions about your child's development? Geneva CUSD 304 offers free Child Find developmental screenings for district residents with children ages 3 to 5 who are not yet eligible for kindergarten. Screenings assess areas such as speech and language, motor skills, cognition, social-emotional development, self-care, vision, and hearing. Appointments and pre-registration are required.

2026-27 Child Find Screening Dates:
• Oct. 2, 2026
• Nov. 6, 2026
• Dec. 18, 2026
• Jan. 29, 2027
• Feb. 25, 2027

🎒✨ The halls of Western Elementary are full of energy once again! Students arrived with big smiles, eager to reconnect with friends, meet their teachers, and begin a new year of learning and discovery. From the excitement of the first bell to the promise of new adventures ahead, it was a wonderful first day back.

🚍 Tomorrow is the first day of school in Geneva! 🚍

As students head back to classrooms, please help keep them safe by slowing down, staying alert, and stopping for school buses when required by law.

Passing a stopped school bus puts children at risk and can result in significant fines, license suspension, and other penalties.

Guess who's excited for the first day of school? Waddles is! 🦆🎉

After a long summer, Waddles just couldn't hold back the excitement and broke into a happy dance! That's because Western Avenue School is finally welcoming students back for another amazing year.

Teachers are ready, friends are waiting, and new adventures are just around the corner. We can't wait to see your smiling faces filling our hallways again.

💙 A heartfelt thank you to the Northwestern Medicine Delnor Health and Fitness Center for their incredible generosity!

Earlier this summer, the Delnor Health and Fitness Center selected Western Avenue Elementary as the recipient of a school supply drive. Thanks to the kindness of their members, we received an amazing collection of school supplies that will support students and families across our district.

For many years, Western has provided backpacks filled with supplies to families who may need a little extra support as they prepare for a new school year. We also maintain a "secret stash" of supplies to help students throughout the year when unexpected needs arise.

The donation was so generous we shared supplies with other elementary schools and even provide high school-specific items, including scientific calculators, to students who could benefit from them.

Thank you, Delnor Health and Fitness Center, for helping ensure students start the school year with the tools they need to learn, grow, and succeed! 📚✏️🎒
