❤️3-year-old Families: You have questions and we have answers!
Did you know that we offer full-day 3-year-old preschool at North Street School? Our high-quality program is offered at no cost to families. Read on for more answers to our frequently asked questions:
🐾Hours are 8:45-3:20
🐾Children must turn 3 on or before December 1, 2026 in order to enroll for this coming school year
🐾Children do not need to be potty-trained
🐾We offer nutritious family-style breakfast, lunch, and snack daily
🐾Through play-based activities and lessons, students learn early math and literacy skills (colors, shapes, counting, alphabet knowledge), develop strong language skills, and practice social-emotional skills in a highly-supported environment.
🐾Schedule: In addition to time for organized activities and short lessons, students have meals, center time, free play, gross motor (playground or mini-gym), read aloud, and nap/rest time.
🐾Our staff is truly exceptional. Each classroom has a NYS-certified teacher as well as a teacher assistant and teacher aide. Each classroom has at least one Spanish-speaking adult. All staff are first aid/CPR/AED certified.
🐾Our students go to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) daily with our one and only Miss Annie. We hear from families that their children tell them often about all of the fun they have learning with Miss Annie!
🐾Under the direction of Mrs. Lorraine Knifley, our Leadership Team consists of social workers and certified teachers who provide ongoing classroom and student support, assists parents if their child needs any special services (such as speech therapy), and can help families in a number of other ways.
