Here are a few scenes from our sixth grade afterschool rehearsal and pizza party today! Thanks to all who made this event possible! The kids were awesome - we are ready for the Fall Concert tomorrow night!

Today’s theme for Almost Spring Break Spirit Week is “Students Dress Like Teachers, Teachers Dress Like Students.” Here are some of the students who dressed like me in full concert uniform, black dress pants, and ID on a lanyard.Hysterical! In this pic you can’t see my sweat pants, crocs, and single air pod, but I’m trying…😂 GMSN is such a fun place to teach!! Have a great Spring Break everyone!!

It was so much fun meeting all of our incoming sixth graders for ‘25-‘26 today! If you are reading this and you know a fifth grader, please encourage them to join the fun when they get to the middle school in the fall!

I enjoyed visiting with some Heartland Hawks this morning! Can’t wait for you all to come the middle schools in tha fall!

The Winter Concert last night was so much fun! I took this picture with our sixth graders just before we started warming up. What an awesome, fun group!

A number of us had an extremely enjoyable day at Solo/Ensemble Contests at Crone Middle School in Naperville! I am very proud to report that ALL of the Choir groups and solos from both Geneva North and Geneva South received 1st place ratings today! We appreciate how much time, effort, and dedication was put into this activity. Students - you should be very proud of yourselves; all of you improved immensely in your musicianship and performance skills, and I greatly enjoyed working with you these past six weeks! Singing in a small group requires a very different skill set than what we typically do in our large ensemble setting. I hope you found this experience to be both valuable AND fun!

Students, I have received all of your judging sheets and will copy and distribute them to each student involved this week. I also have Contest medals to award you at our concert on Tuesday! Parents - thank you for making the effort to drive the students to the event today, as well as organize for them to stay after school for the past six weeks. You had a large part in their success today as well!
