Alrighty then! Thats 3 swarms in 10 days- two in my boxes and one in my neighbors backyard hive! 🐝🧲
Who needs bees?
I will be assessing each colony after a few days to get settled then I will make them available and priced accordingly- let me know if you are interested in adding to your existing apiary or looking to get started in beekeeping and I will be sure to keep you updated on how many frames of bees in each, early brood pattern, queen pics, and wether the queen is already marked or not- if she is not there is a 50/50 chance that the swarm is from another beekeepers commercially raised bees or a feral colony with diverse local genetics…

Illinois just got a new state insect- the Black and Gold Bumblebee!
‘Bombus Auricomis’
Starting off Pollinator Month with a new state bee! 🐝
It’s official: As of June 1st, the Black and Gold Bumble Bee (Bombus auricomus) is the new state insect of Illinois! There’s no better way to launch a month of pollinator awareness than by celebrating a native species getting some well-deserved recognition.
Let's celebrate by planting more native flowers to keep our new state rep thriving!
Huge thanks to our local legislators for championing this bill and bringing vital awareness to our pollinators! We are also incredibly proud of the hardworking students whose dedicated research made this moment possible. Change starts with community and teamwork!
