🦅🔬 A Week of Science, STEM, and Inspiration at Mill Creek Elementary!

Last week, the Eagles at Mill Creek Elementary had an unforgettable, science‑packed week thanks to Dennis Robertson, engineer, educator, and proud Mill Creek grandparent.

After a 30‑year career as a chief design engineer at Brooks Instrument, where he helped design flow meters used in medical devices and semiconductor production, Mr. Robertson earned his Master’s in Education and went on to teach high school physics. Along the way, he launched an engineering club, won a national title with his SEAPERCH underwater robotics team, and led districtwide science nights, all driven by his passion for sharing science and engineering with students.

This week, Mr. Robertson designed and led hands‑on STEM experiences for every grade level at Mill Creek. The 5th grade students built pulse motors from scratch, 4th grade tackled an egg‑drop challenge, 3rd grade explored the science of pressure, and K–2 students enjoyed exciting demonstrations and experiments.

It was an incredible experience our students won’t soon forget. A huge thank you to Dennis Robertson and 5th grade teacher Tom Robertson for making this amazing week possible! 💙

MCS would like to send a huge thank you to our fabulous PTO for everything they did last week to make our staff feel special! Shout out to Anna Filip, Kally Swibes, Meredith Lansford and Jen Causey for all the time and energy they put into our themed days!

🎉 What a wheel‑ie awesome assembly at Mill Creek Elementary today! 🎉Our students were thrilled to welcome Matt Wilhelm, professional BMX biker, who delivered a powerful message about character education — including perseverance, positive choices, and believing in yourself. 🚴‍♂️✨

Matt kept everyone engaged by combining real‑life lessons with jaw‑dropping BMX stunt tricks, showing students that hard work, integrity, and determination can help you reach your goals both on and off the bike.
