✏️📚 Help Us Stock the Classrooms at Midwest Behavior Academy! 📚✏️

A new school year is underway at Midwest Behavior Academy in Geneseo, and we have put together a wishlist of items that would help support our students and classrooms throughout the year!

Our list includes classroom supplies, educational materials, sensory and regulation tools, games, activities, and other items our students can use to learn, create, practice new skills, and have some fun along the way. 🍎🧩🎨

Meet our Lead Teacher, Christine! We are so excited to have her as part of our MBA team! Read her about me below:

Christine is so excited to be joining the MBA team as the special education teacher! This is her seventh year teaching, having previously taught general music for four years and special education for two years at Millikin Elementary in Geneseo. Christine grew up in Naperville, Illinois, but has stayed in the Quad Cities since graduating from Augustana College in 2020. This past December, Christine completed her master's degree in special education.

Outside of school, Christine teaches early childhood music classes, plays in pit orchestras, and music directs children's and main stage musicals at local theatres. She enjoys crafting and spending time with her friends and family, three cats, and boyfriend, who is also a teacher!

At Midwest Behavior Academy, our goal isn't simply to provide a placement—it's to help students build the skills they need to be successful in the least restrictive environment possible.

We believe every student deserves the opportunity to return to their home school when they are ready. That's why we actively collaborate with families, home districts, and related service providers throughout a student's enrollment. We share progress, communicate regularly, and work together to ensure everyone is moving toward the same goal.

Our program focuses on developing the academic, behavioral, communication, and social-emotional skills that support long-term success. As students demonstrate readiness, we work closely with their IEP team to plan thoughtful, individualized transition opportunities back to their home district.

Success isn't measured by how long a student stays with us—it's measured by helping them gain the skills and confidence to thrive in the environment that's right for them.

As we prepare for an exciting new school year, we're looking for an Administrator to join our team at Midwest Behavior Academy!

While we're sad to see Sidney move on to her next chapter, we're incredibly grateful for everything she has contributed to our students, families, and staff. We wish her nothing but the best in her future endeavors.
