My daughter and I just scored tix!
The last time we saw a concert together was more than 10yrs ago… in a cornfield… Mumford & Sons. Hands down best concert experience ever…. Mostly because of the Musical Memories we made together. I can’t wait to make some more with her tomorrow night :)

This morning was cold and rainy when I got up and left for the studios. The 3rd Tuesday of each month and the 1st Friday of each month, I have provided music classes to all the littles in Geneseo for over 10 yrs now. Sooooo many kids thru the years! I love meeting them when they are tiny and having them look forward to music class. We build such a unique bond through music, a mutual respect for learning about fragile instruments as well as having a ball banging on the drums! Then they hit about 4 yrs old and start coming into the studios for “Big Kid Class”. Today, however, it was a dreary day. A perfect day…. For building a massive fort and having music class in the fort. A few pics from the itty bitty class and I forgot to take some of the preschool class. They were on fire today and had graduated to reading rhythm cards and playing the drums. We’ve been doing it for two yrs now but they are 4 and already really good at reading simple rhythms, counting them including the rests. O.M.G. I just love it when all the lightbulbs are popping off at once!! But the littles today… we explored rain sticks and sang Rain Rain Go Away. In the fort. We explored the baritone ukulele as well today and ended with colorful rainbow ribbon dancing at the end. I swear there is nothing like building forts and holding class inside. Try it. I promise you’ll start smiling too. 🙂. Just look at the moms… they loved it more I think lolol…

2 wk post -op progress…
Everything I’m putting my students through for finger warmups, I am doing it too! …Ok attempting… lol. Many of the kids are so happy they can finally play faster than me lol… to that I say…”challenge-accepted!”

Studios are cleaned. Furniture rearranged. Fall window in to get me thru Nov. thanks for the help, Tracy. Now let’s go fix this hand…again. Surgery in half hr. I’m glad to get it fixed…finally. I just know the process to rehab it back to where I can play the big stuff will be slow and painful. My goal is by Jan. That’s the goal. Beautiful Christmas music. I’ll be out for a bit this wk as I juggle family, my hand, schedules and new students coming in. Mahlon will still be here on drums. And my guitar teachers will as well. If you get a chance to stroll by the window, be sure to peek in at a gorgeous antique marimba I am hosting. Amazing what folks pull out of the grandparents attic! More on that later. Trying out the new ORA surgery center out at the Bettplex. Big breath…

Good morning everybody! What a wonderful day to listen to some music in the park! 1230 to 2 PM! This will be my 10th music fest in Geneseo! Yep, you heard it. I’ve been here for 10 years and it has felt like just a couple. The time has flown. The laughter has flowed. The music has poured out of my heart and into these children in the community. I do hope you come celebrate with me today as I mark a decade of teaching music in this community. I’ve been celebrating quietly all year, but today I wanna show you what we’ve been working on downtown. I hope you can join us! Thank you everyone for 10 amazing years of musical memories you have given me and I hope in turn, I have given you 🙂 Now come and sing along! I love you all and to my students this year, once again I couldn’t be more proud of all the work you’ve accomplished! Now enjoy every minute of today and go share that music with the rest of the world! Just throw it out into the air and watch it sparkle all around you and I promise you they will come to watch. 😉
