Sometimes burnout starts with:
“I’m fine.”
“I can handle it.”
“It’s just a busy season.”
“I’ll rest when things slow down.”

The problem? Things don't always slow down.

One of the most important parts of preventing burnout is learning to notice your own signals before you're running on empty.

Ask yourself today:
What is taking the most energy from me right now?

And then ask:
What can I change, delegate, simplify, or say no to?

Wellness isn't just something we offer employees.
It's something we have to practice ourselves, too.

Your team needs a leader who asks:
How are you really doing?”

Burnout prevention isn't always about adding more perks.

Sometimes, it's about noticing, listening, and checking in before someone reaches their breaking point.

I wrote about the simple leadership habit that can make a bigger difference than another wellness initiative.

New semester, fresh start.

If the transition to campus has you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or just not like yourself, you don't have to navigate it alone.

Livingston County Therapy Collective is here to support SUNY Geneseo students through the ups and downs of college life — stress & anxiety, homesickness, relationships, pressure of keeping up, and more.

We're currently welcoming new clients and would love to be part of your support system this year. Reach out anytime to get started.

Think about the best leader you've ever worked with.

Not necessarily the most successful.
Not the person with the biggest title.

The person who made you think:
"I can be myself here."
"I can ask questions."
"I can admit when I don't know something."
"I can tell the truth."

What did they do?
Maybe they listened without immediately trying to fix everything.
Maybe they admitted when they were wrong.
Maybe they trusted you to do your job.
Maybe they made it okay to say, "I need help."
Maybe they simply made you feel like your voice mattered.

Those moments are more than good leadership.

They're psychological safety in action.
And here's the thing:
People remember how safe you made it for them to be human.

Not the mission statement on the wall.
Not the annual team-building event.

The everyday moments.

What's something a great leader did that made you feel safe to speak up?
