Today was a big day for Geary Public Schools as we officially broke ground on the next chapter of our district.

After everything our students, staff, families, and community have experienced since the fire, it was special to have everyone together today to mark this moment. Our students and staff were joined by community members and supporters as we celebrated the beginning of something we have been working toward for a long time.

These are just a few basic pictures from today, but there is much more to come. We will be sharing additional photos and highlights from the ceremony soon.

Today was about more than turning dirt. It was about moving forward and giving our students and community a school they can be proud of for generations to come.

Thank you to everyone who helped make today possible and to everyone who has supported Geary Public Schools throughout this process. We are officially underway!

Geary Public Schools is looking for a few great people to add to our substitute teacher list!

We are not simply looking for someone who is available during the day. We are looking for dependable, responsible adults who enjoy being around kids, can follow a teacher’s plans, use good judgment, communicate professionally, and help us maintain a safe and productive classroom.

You do not have to be a certified teacher to be a great substitute, but you do need to understand that the person in that classroom has an important responsibility. Our students deserve adults who will show up on time, treat them well, support our staff, and take the job seriously.

Arrays with 100 Hungry Ants!

Mrs. Farley’s 2nd graders had so much fun learning with 100 Hungry Ants! As Mrs. Farley read the story, students used their own “ants” to create different arrays—1 row of 100, 2 rows of 50, 4 rows of 25, 5 rows of 20, and finally 10 rows of 10!

What a fun, hands-on way to explore arrays and see how the same 100 “ants” can be arranged in so many different ways!
