As we enter a new week, I find myself reflecting on the last five years and the reason I started this whole journey of owning a daycare in the first place. 🤎
When you walk through the doors of KinderCottage, my hope is that every child leaves here happy, healthy, loved, and — most importantly — a good human.
Because to me, being a good human will always come before anything else.
We spend so much time teaching children their ABCs, manners, and how to share. But some of the most important lessons we teach are the ones that aren’t on a lesson plan — how to be kind, how to include others, how to treat people with respect, how to apologize when you’ve hurt someone, how to stand up for yourself without tearing someone else down, and how to choose kindness even when you don’t have to.
And after this past weekend, I found myself thinking about that even more.
I can teach them that kindness matters.
That their words matter.
That other people’s feelings matter.
That you can be strong without being cruel.
And that being a good human will always be something to be proud of.
Five years into this journey, I am reminded that this isn’t just a job to me. It truly is my calling. I get to spend my days loving, teaching, guiding, comforting, encouraging, and helping little humans grow into the people they are going to become.
And honestly, what could matter more than that? 🥹🤎
I don’t know exactly what the next five years will bring, but I do know this: I will continue showing up every day and doing my very best to raise kind, confident, compassionate little humans.
Because someday, they’re going to be the adults in this world.
And I hope they’re the ones who make it a little kinder. 🤎
That is why I do what I do. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything. 🏡🧸✨
