Founded by The Brothers of Holy Cross in 1946. Catholic, independent, coed. Educating the minds and hearts of 18 month olds to 18 year olds.

Gilmour Academy was founded in 1946 upon the teachings of Blessed Father Basil Moreau, founder of the Congregation of Holy Cross, who more than 175 years ago said, “We shall always place education side by side with instruction; the mind will not be cultivated at the expense of the heart.”

That’s just as true today as it was then. Our Holy Cross tradition emphasizes development of the whole perso

Good luck to our Speech & Debate team as they represent Gilmour Academy at the National Speech & Debate Tournament in Virginia this week!

After an early morning departure yesterday, these students are set to compete against some of the nation's top speakers and debaters across four different events. It's been a long road to get here, with countless hours spent researching, writing, practicing and refining their craft.

Best of luck, Lancers. We're cheering you on from home!

Before graduation, seniors presented their final exhibition projects for Theology 12, reflecting on course topics and their own faith journeys while exploring the questions, “Who is God?” and “How Shall I Live?” Their presentations showcased thoughtful reflection, personal growth and a deeper understanding of faith.

As part of his senior project, Brendan Hearns ’26 had the incredible opportunity — thanks to Mr. Most and his mentor, professional sports photographer Doug Beigie — to attend the Kentucky Derby as a photographer for the event.

Brendan traveled to the Derby early as part of the social media team, learning the ins and outs of one of the most iconic sporting events in the world while photographing everything leading up to the “fastest two minutes in sports.” From behind-the-scenes moments to capturing the race itself and the winning horse, Golden Tempo, Brendan documented an unforgettable experience through his lens.

These are just some of our favorite shots from Brendan’s time at the Derby.

What an amazing opportunity for such a talented photographer. We are going to miss having Brendan on campus next year, but cannot wait to see where his talent takes him.

At the Family Kindness Festival, for which Gilmour was one of the sponsors, Sanjeethi Anand ’27 hosted a NeuroKnow brain-health awareness outreach table featuring a tri-fold display, an origami activity, and brain-themed fact-or-myth cards for children and families. Through the welcoming, hands-on activities centered on brain health awareness, NeuroKnow supported the spirit of the Family Kindness Festival by encouraging care for oneself and others, encouraging curiosity, and creating an open space for learning across all ages.
