Gilmour Academy Founded by The Brothers of Holy Cross in 1946. Catholic, independent, coed. Educating the minds and hearts of 18 month olds to 18 year olds.

Gilmour Academy was founded in 1946 upon the teachings of Blessed Father Basil Moreau, founder of the Congregation of Holy Cross, who more than 175 years ago said, “We shall always place education side by side with instruction; the mind will not be cultivated at the expense of the heart.”

That’s just as true today as it was then. Our Holy Cross tradition emphasizes development of the whole person with a focus on a rigorous academic program complemented by a moral imperative to foster the development of faith, conscience, leadership and a commitment to giving back.

Lucas Clark headed to Denver this past weekend to share his work with theatre educators. Our Fine and Performing Arts Program Coordinator was invited to present at the American Alliance for Theatre & Education’s Amplify & Ignite Symposium, where educators gathered around the theme “Culture, Community & Competency.” His session, “Mission-Driven Theatre Education,” looked at how a school’s mission takes shape in the day-to-day work of the theatre classroom.

We’re proud to see his incredible approach to theatre education recognized by colleagues in the field. Congratulations, Lucas!

Ms. Dawn’s Montessori toddler class teamed up with Ms. Gajda's sixth-grade class for a special apple tissue paper craft. Working side by side, the students shared plenty of smiles, gentle guidance and joy.

Even more special? Five of the sixth-graders were once students in our toddler program. Watching them return as mentors made this a pretty wonderful full-circle moment. ❤️

Ten Gilmour middle school students spent the day at the Great Lakes Science Center for STEM Goes Red 2026, connecting with women working in STEM and learning about the many paths a career in science, technology, engineering and math can take.

Fifth grade took on Niagara Falls! 🌊

The day included getting up close to the falls aboard the Maid of the Mist, exploring the sights and sounds of Niagara and, of course, making a stop at the Original Anchor Bar — home of the original Buffalo wing — to taste a little piece of history.

Socktober is here! 🧦

For the 10th year, the Gilmour community is coming together to collect socks for local homeless shelters ahead of the winter months. This year’s drive is being led by Megan Flaherty ’30.

The drive runs through October 14. Want to help? Bring new packs of socks to campus or make a monetary donation via Venmo.
