Last weekend, the Hawken Tinker Tent was in full swing at the annual Meet the Machines event at Legacy Village.

Hawken’s admissions and marketing teams love bringing our community together at this event every year. With guidance from our amazing Red Key Leaders, hundreds of young makers designed, built, and raced their own wooden cars down a track custom-made in Hawken’s Innovation Lab. Our student volunteers cheered the kids on and offered hands-on support every step of the way!

Outdoor Leadership (OL) is about so much more than time outside. Students in grades 9-12 build confidence, strengthen teamwork, solve real-world challenges, and discover what they're capable of, one adventure at a time. Join us this fall!

From sharing stories about themselves to gathering for story time and engaging in classroom activities, Hawken’s Lower School students are already off to a wonderful start. Here's to a year of curiosity, connection, and joyful learning!

Welcome back to school!

Leadership at Hawken takes many forms—and for members of the Red Key Leadership Council, it means helping prospective families experience the school firsthand.

Last week, this select group of student ambassadors gathered on campus for a two-day training retreat to prepare for the upcoming admission season. Working closely with the Admission Team, Red Key students welcome visitors to the Gates Mills campus, lead tours, and help create engaging experiences for prospective families.

During the retreat, veteran leaders trained new members, the group reviewed departmental and curricular updates, and Mr. Simon stopped by to share details about the 9th grade experience.

Through Red Key, students have the opportunity to build confidence, strengthen communication skills, mentor their peers, and make a meaningful impact on the Hawken community.

We’re grateful for this dedicated group of student leaders and all they do to make the admission process so welcoming for families!

Congratulations to Kimberly Hogan ’98, who was elected to the Global Association of Human Trafficking Scholars Board of Directors.

Hogan named to board of directors for global organization - School of Social Work Hogan, clinical associate professor, was recently elected to the Global Association of Human Trafficking Scholars’ (GAHTS) board of directors. Her term runs from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2028.
