Gardner Park students were SO excited to receive books generously shared by our Hawks Nest families during the Billy Miller Reading Rally Book Drive! Thanks to your incredible support, we collected OVER FIVE BOXES of books to share and spread the love of reading. Simply the BEST at the Nest!

Good Afternoon, Families!
This is Principal Lawson with a few updates.

This continues to be a huge week at Hawks Nest!

This week we continue our end of grade testing. This is an important time for our students and our staff. It is important for our students to show how much they have grown this year and it is important for our staff to show what great teachers they are. Parents, we need your help. Please make sure you are having conversations at home with your child about taking the tests seriously, taking their time, and doing their best! We want this to be our best testing year yet!

You will be hearing from teachers about students who are proficient or not proficient on the tests that we have taken. I want to encourage you to strongly consider giving your child the opportunity to retest. This is the first year that retests count for both growth and proficiency for a student. This is also the first year that all third graders are allowed to retest in reading. These are amazing opportunities for our students.

Tuesday is our Math EOG for 3rd-5th grade students and Thursday beings our retesting for students.

Friday is our 5th grade dance.

The PTO is excited to host 5th Graders this Friday for their "Glow Before You Go" dance and continue what's becoming a special tradition for these rising middle schoolers!

Next up for our Teacher Appreciation shout outs, let’s give it up for our Kinder, First, and Second Rockstars! These ladies go above and beyond! They have been smashing their mClass EOY assessments and goals with students! These ladies are laying the foundation needed for strong readers and mathematicians. We are so grateful for all you do! Be sure to leave them a waterfall of support!

Tomorrow these nine ladies lead us into our EOG testing window and we couldn’t be prouder of their efforts this year and all they have poured into our 3-5th grade students!!! This teacher appreciation week, we are extra thankful for you! Our superheroes! Now let’s go exceed growth! Thank you for going above and beyond! Leave some love and appreciation for them on here!
